Was on the phone with pa y pa l this morning, Got limited last night permanently. This is a SSN verified, 2 yr old account received close to 30k and has been limited at least monthly for being connected to another account. When at work at a previous job I had access to the company pa ypa l account, made the mistake of accessing both my account and the company account from same workstation.
To get reinstated all times before I had simply to just call in enough times, get the right person on the line, explain my work history and the connection between the accounts and was always reinstated. Tried that today and on the 4th call I got someone to initiate a back office review..... Maybe i'll be reinstated but probably not... seems like they want me gone. point of the matter was my former employer had also been limited, and appealed, Well the decision was passed down and appeal was denied, as such suspected connected accounts were killed as well. (this all was told me by the 4th rep I talked to. first 3 reps said "sorry we cant help, please find another payment processor")
Point I want to make, is that during my conversation the pa y pa l rep said your machine ID's are a 100% positive match from your employer account and your account, and that in our system is a 100% connection and match, meaning your accounts are one and the same. (mine and the employers)
(while both have different names, addresses, banks, ect)
So I am thinking machine ID's - and Does paypal now use an ama zon type method of a browser finger print, MAC identifier, or CPU identifier?
Aspkins book on Ama zon is incredibly well thought out and way more advanced then ebay pa ypa l. But, if this technology exists and amazon is using it, how long till pa ypa l adopts the same or similar uses.
Java and other embedded technologies exist that reveal a TON about your system.
I'm just saying, that anyone looking to stealth better step up their game as the security firms already doing just that.
There goes my rant.....
