PayPal eChecks

Okay, so eBay debited my PayPal for eBay fees, instead of taking my paypal balance they have requested a eCheck. I never have dealt with eChecks like this so when it clears can paypal see my real name that's linked to the bank account? Or they don't see any of that info? They said if I want it cancelled I would have to call in PayPal and tell them to cancel it.

Dunno about having to call PayPal. I had a situation like this:

1.) Buyer wanted a refund of $100 for an item he bought that didnt work.
2.) I agreed
3.) Buyer opened a case which put a hold on the $100 from my PP account (meaning I know have $100 less in my paypal account)
4.) The hold brought my available balance down to $20
5.) I tried to give the buyer a refund, but since my "available" balance was only $20, I had "insufficient" funds even though they had the $100 on hold and available after the case was opened.
6.) Since I had IF, they withdrew the $100 from my bank via ACH transfer even after I called them and told them they were not authorized by me to do this (idc about the legality of me doing this point, I just needed it on record).
7.) Called my bank, told them I had an unauthorized withdrawal from my account and they reversed the transaction and gave all my money back and gave PayPal the F U.
8.) Called PayPal, told them the buyer already got the money, and I have my money back. If they wanted THEIR money they can have it from the money they took out and put on hold in the first place or else they just got screwed out of $100.

PS - Don't care about the legality, don't come here crying "HA! THEY CAN SUE LOLOL" because I don't care.

I don't get this

When your customer opened a case and Paypal froze the $100 you should have just asked them to refund. That's why they freeze the funds. Something is not quite Kosher here.

:pop2:

confused about what? The question it-self or answers?

i am not 100% sure if they view every transaction for discrepencies but i have read time and time again to prevent pp from withdrawing from account.

Have you contacted your bank? When i had a similar issue, I was told by the bank that they could not stop the transaction , my only option was to cancel the direct debit mandate and then re-verify with pp.

Grifter 07-04-2011 09:58 PM

just confused as to why they did not pull from available balance - i've never had that happen so it caught me off guard haha.

All of this gargle ha.

Ok - to answer the main q of the thread - pa yp al took an eCheck from your bank account. YES - if pp decides (IF) to look at the receipt generated, your name of the bank account will show up as having sent the cash.
