Default SOB! Always trust your gut

So it happened - just started my stealth account and got everything approved - decided to make one buy to test the address variation ( score, worked ) and to show 'history' in the silver/coins area ( what I am going to be selling ).

Item showed up - ⊗⊗⊗⊗. Different from photograph, not solid silver but '100 mills' which is 'clad' or 'layered' with copper or tin below. . . upset is an understatement. 40 bucks for 5 dollars worth of silver.

Talked to the seller ( had over 130 positive feedback with all 100% legit items ), they said they will not accept returns and if I have a problem with that to 'take it up with eb ay' - sob sob sob.

Here is my issue - I paid with a van illa vi sa so it didn't link my new bank account by name, if I file a SNAD and return the item will the funds be placed back into my pp acct so i can then transfer them to bank or will it attempt to refill the card directly? I also don't want this to raise any flags due to the stealth nature of the acct.

Long story short - do I eat the 40 bucks and write it off to learning - do I SNAD and everything is okay, do I SNAD and expect acct to die or are there other options I might be missing?

I have about 20 dollars invested in the stealth acct so I'm debating which loss is greater right now haha!

Thank you in advance,
Grifter

Don't know the other answer but if it is me, I just give seller a big neg feedback first.

Try open claim with eBay first

This guy knows what he's doing. He's selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ and he will be here soon moaning that he has been kicked off for selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗.

If you are uncomfortable doing a SNAD give him a really bad neg with the word F * KE in it a few times.

I will write him one last time, leave the neg feedback and worst case file a SNAD. I just hope if they try to refund the card directly it wont cause any issues since its a non-reloadable card. Sigh.

Thank you again everyone.

Ha GTran - we don't need that kind of folk here.

@Grifter, if you file your SNAD and win, your Pa yp al account will be credited but not the Visa - funds will be in the pp account - if you call up pp after, they will refund to your card.

This is a perfect example of why Stealth accounts and buyer accounts do NOT mix!

They should be kept completely separate.

I would try contacting the seller one last time, if he's no help, then open a SNAD.

Nope, if the money came directly out of a credit card, then it will be refunded to the credit card. Most prepaid credit card, including the one OP is using, can have funds returned to the card.

Maybe he'd be willing to refund 50% by mail if you return the item

And promise not to leave Bad FB

Not sure I'd want to compromise a Stealth account for just $40
