I think as soon as you try to use the account overseas it will be limited, and it will ask you to confirm stuff.

Others with more experience might chime in.

If a user goes overseas and uses their acount from another computer, then yes, there is a likelyhood of the account being limited.

Let's be sensible for a moment. Is that NOT a good move if ebay thinks the account might have been compromised? So any user should consider making contact with ebay AND paypal to discuss what their best plan would be.

Provided suitable arrangements are made, it can be workable.

Don't forget paypal will be more concerned than ebay with any differences of IPs etc.

Can you keep a computer going in the USA? Remote login would be a good option.

Agreed. Setting up windows remote desktop. I have considered this too if I went over seas... You could pay a small fee to friend to keep a computer at their house if you aren't keeping a residence in the states.

The only issue I have thought of is resetting the internet to change IP's. Could this be done remotely somehow?

Where's the contingency plan for power failure, house burning down or the other part Stateside not fulfulling their duties?

Plan has merit as does contacting ebay/paypal.

Bottom line depends on time away overseas etc.

Dont forget a lot of paypal limitations when accounts are accessed overseas.

Plan has to take that all into account.

Have to agree with GB here. Contact EB & PP and tell them what you want to do (obviously embellish it a bit) but the main problem is the time factor.

Consider using a dial up account for your time on PP and EB. I know it's old fashioned and slow but the amount of time you spend on the EB and PP site can be reduced to a minimum by using Auctiva and your email account.

Here in the UK Dial up at off peak times is about $1 an hour. Obviously more from abroad but it would give you an acceptable IP - especially if you have cookies in place

Far safer than IP hiding software
