Super Stealth With Virtual Machines and VPN

For super stealth purposes, this question goes out to all you gurus out there.

1. With a Virtual machine, is there anyway if ebay and paypal wanted to track the original host? (assuming you don't link anything)

2. VPN if you use a VPN or a elite Dedicated Proxy, is there anyway they can track you down to your original connection?

This is some really important factors and I hope someone with THROUGH knowledge can answer this. Thanks in advance.
