And your own SSN is not ID? What is it then :juggle:

here in america ssn is a form of id but we also have id numbers and driver license numbers. they are all different. banks ask for id/drivers license number and ssn. some other companies such as greendot only require ssn.

Also the ONLY places that want the SSN is banks, hospitals, workplace for taxes, paypal sometimes and to start up utilities like Gas, electricity to your home. mainly just for non payment reasons. So they can report it to credit agencies.

No one else will take it for id. Cant use it for cashing/writing checks, 2nd ID for using CC's or anything else. There is no photo or anything. Just says your name and SSN. No address or anything else. a very plain cheap looking card.
