Default MC999 suspension warranted?

I had an eBay account that had been opened since 2006 and in March of this year they shut it down indefinitely. I don't understand the reasoning either. I got shut down because of seller performance not improving but I had 100% feedback. My DSR's where find except shipping time got dinged 2 over the 3 minimum. My shipping cost (was $3.26 btw) was dinged 4 times over the minimum of 3. Here is the message they sent to me. It was really upsetting to lose the account after almost 5 years (Was at the end of July) no feedback issues. This was the first account I had banned and that lead to two other accounts getting banned before I learned how to do it the stealth way. So why was I suspended? By the way the account was limited in February and then in March wiped out. Sad thing is I had improved for over a year and if the would have made it past March by DSR's would have been under the minimum since they keep them on your account for a year (I believe).

Hello you),

Unfortunately, your eBay account has been restricted indefinitely from selling because your performance has not met the standards required to sell on eBay. If you had any current listings, they have been removed and your selling fees will be credited.

-- About eBay seller performance standards --
To meet the standards required to sell on eBay, you need to limit the number of 1s and 2s you receive on your detailed seller ratings (DSRs). If more than 1% of your total transactions results in low DSRs for item as described, or more than 2% for any other DSR, your account is considered below standard. For lower-volume sellers, the above percentages only apply if you have received more than 3 low ratings for a single DSR. If too many item not received or item not as described cases are opened by your buyers, or if you receive excessive negative or neutral Feedback, you may also be considered to be performing below standard.

There are also limits on the number of open eBay Buyer Protection cases and the number of cases closed without seller resolution:

-- Sellers can have no more than 1% of total transactions with opened cases.
-- Sellers may have no more than 3 opened cases before they receive lower search visibility for listings.
-- Sellers can have no more than 0.3% of their transactions that are closed cases without seller resolution or no more than 3 closed cases without seller resolution, whichever is higher.

Top-rated sellers and PowerSellers must meet higher standards.

To find out more about the factors affecting your account, visit your Seller Dashboard:
http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...&spsProgram=US
You may need to sign in first.

See the seller performance standards policy for more information on the minimum standards required for all sellers on eBay:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/...rformance.html

While restricted, you won't be able to list any items. However, you'll still be able to finish outstanding transactions, resolve issues with your buyers, access messages in My eBay, and purchase items on eBay.

Thanks,

eBay

thats just eb ay for you

total bu11sh1t rules but we all gotta play by them

so your dsr`s were all okay apart from shipping fee?

would you say the shipping fee of $3.26 was excessive or did it just about cover p&p?

anyway, you are in the right place if you need help getting back on eb ay

Yep, you have to play by eBay's rules. Low DSRs in shipping cost was sort of a problem for me as well. I charged $1.49.

So I say "F that" and boost my price by $1.60 and offer free shipping. Guaranteed 5 stars. Now my DSRs are 4.9+ in all categories.

OR what you can do is offer free shipping on some stuff, not free on others. That way it sort of evens out.

this might help a little...
explain in your listings why the p&p costs so much

say you charge $2....so you explain it costs you
jiffy bag 20 cents
ink 20 cents
paper 10 cents
selotape 5 cents
petrol 45 cents
postage $1

it could help these tight (hard to please) buyers understand that you are offering a fair p&p fee

That is pretty bad. I would say your DSR's did you in. Not worth messing with in my opinion. Start a new account and before selling figure out why you are getting so many Bad DSR's

You should have 1 or 2 max.

You would have to sell so much to raise them up that it would take too long.

If you want advice the ONLY advice anyone will give you is get up off your butt and ship packages out the same day when you can. No later tahn the next day.

Ship for FREE. Thta is the new way of doing things. Buyers want free shipping.

Those 2 things will get you 5.0 dsrs nearly all the time if not all.

Not trying to thrash you but trying to help you.

If you ship fast and free they give you auto 5 stars in those 2 categories.

Really a cut a dry issue. you must improve. If you dont then even a new account will be worthless.

I agree wit you. I have started two other accounts since then and lowered my shipping rate and shipped the next day guaranteed. Though I did not the know the information from the book or this site at the time so they are no suspended. I have a stealth account now and I'm starting to make more. I've learned from my mistakes and ready to run a successful business!

Thanks for all the advice everyone.

Well Glad you are taking the advice and not just asking over and over again until you get what you want to hear. Seems a new way of doing things for some these days.

Sounds like you have it right now and can go on with good accounts. Good luck
