This is great because i get a new IP every time, but normally its local. Lately i been getting random IP'S from way out of state! Will this get the account flagged?

Are there better phones than evo for tether? How is the 4g speed for tether?

Go to whatismyip.com, not only will it give you the ip, but also the state..... and the server from whence it came. The EVO is only with Sprint... I'm surprised you haven't cycled through less than 10 that are exactly the same.

Generally speaking, getting an IP from all over the USA and from a cell phone carrier is no big deal.

All phones for tether are the same..... for ebay purposes. 4g speed is like unreal compared to 3g. But you need to be careful. Some plans limit you to 5 gb, and the phone company assumes you can't process more than 5gb on the phone, but when tethering, it's more obviously. And I know with Sprint, they instill limits in 3g and not 4g.... it works, sure.... but all you have to do is make the ip one digit different so why work so hard?

It really easy to be honest. It gives me a new ip every time, and is a click of a button. I just wanted to make sure that it is okay to have such a random ip sometimes!

I know it's easy... but some require data plans for using the phone as modem, and even though they say it's unlimated from the phone, it is really a 5gb cap, but the phone can't process more than 5bg when you hook it up to a computer.....

I've used a few sprint devices for stealth in the past, and I can confirm that in certain circumstances it will cycle through only 10 different ip addresses.

and yes, random ip's are fine.... some people on the forum say they geo locate, but you can also see the name on the server with ip tracking.... I'm sure someone smart in paypal or ebay assumes that a cell phone ip address is not always within 100 miles of the user

I use Cricket for tethering and my IP's only come from AZ. No problems yet.

I still think router swapping is the best option if you can do this!
