Default Quick question about 21 day hold

Some of my accounts dont have the hold. Some do. I was wondering if an account was about 6 months old, 0 feedback. Or 1 or 2 positive feedback and i sold something on eb*y for $5000, would it be placed on hold automatically since its such a high amount?

All accounts are different and get different holds.

It would depend on the items I believe but then again with 0 fb I can see them holding the funds until delivery or feedback.

If you have older accounts with fb why not list it on them instead of a new account?

I will give my personal experience on this as i have many doubts about what makes them hold (concerning reality and not what pay pal and eb ay says).

2 days ago i made a sale on a very high risk at eb ay. It was a several days auction and had lots of bids reaching an ammount i was surprised to get. Anyway, the account used to sell this item is only one month old (started at earlier august) and have 9 feedbacks (100% feedback with awesome reviews by buyers). I used this account to sell some cheap items (nothing more than 3 GBP) and used the balance on pay pal to buy some cheap items i needed.

After the sale i made (big ammount one) i associated a bank account to my pay pal account and yesterday when the buyer payed i accepted the payment (donīt have the automatic payment accepted option active) and withdrew it almost immediatly. It got status pending yesterday right after the withdraw. i though that until it says completed i was not safe of being hold because i was told that only when it says completed money is free to go to bank account. Today i woke up and saw that payment is completed which i understand it will not be hold anymore (as far as i know...).

So, to review and conclude things:

1 - short life eb ay account

2 - 9 positive feedback (100% although only 5 is selling feedback)

3 - pay pal short life account (same time as eb ay)

4 - high risk item

5 - withdrawal very fast

Money is through whithout any hold (in fact i was never hit with email from eb ay for this listing even though is high risk).

Lucky? I donīt know. Making something different or something i am not aware could surpass this situation whithout any limitation? I swear i just followed the book and advice from members here.

This all for my opinion that is i donīt doubt they hit much more generally new accounts with this hold (even older ones as i see written in this board) but much more important than that i think that they act randomly on accounts. The fact this had happen or is happening to me doesnīt mean it will work to others. I think this is trial and error but this is just me and my opinion...

Very important:

Donīt presume that even though this is working for me ( as iīm not doing nothing hidden or unrevealing any trick) does mean it will work for you. This is not more than a statement of my experience so far.

If this info is not emant to be in public forums please move it as i fully understand ( although no tricks or under the table behavior is being made...at least that iīm aware of).

Paypal accounts linked to ebay and backed with a credit card seem to get less holds. What was weird was I was listing on a new account ebay account last night and when I relisted about 20 items, it show that 10 of the items would have holds. It is like only certain auction have holds. Maybe it had to do with categories or maybe it was just the original 10 I listed already.

Does sound lucky. What is somewhat surprising is that you only associated bank account after the sale.

Was it a pa yp al.com account? Might want to move this subscribed section to get more discussion going.

Yes Rsot. It was a pay pal . com account. But when i access the site in my browser and put pay pal . com it redirects me to pay pal . com / pt (and the page appears in portuguese).

I felt lucky indeed but my thoughts are not only luck is involved in all these...Maybe i go tthrough all the steps so it doesnīt get flagged i donīt know....

Feel free to move it of course.
