Will pp take your account down if the DOB does not match?

The dilemma is the ID is not going to match the date given when opening the account.

what id has your dob?

more details please..
DOB does not match to what? to your ID? or ebay?
either way.. if you get suspended.. and you turn those ID and the DOB mismatches.. count that account Bye Bye

They are asking specifically for a photo ID with a matching DOB.

The info is a match other then the DOB and a nickname used.

I think I will be ok with the nickname but the DOB is going to be the issue.

Its all pp.

DOB on the eb-pp account will not be matching the DL I have.

They have not limited this account and have already ok'd the utility bill, bank statement etc.

They sent me an email today telling me I have 8 more days to send them the photo ID.

Photoshop it

Sadly, with pp, you have to really keep the chances of them denying your appeal of limitation to minimum. An agent coming across mismatched DOBs will definitely flag your account and once deemed risky, you're doomed. That's just my risk analysis on it - change the DOB via photoshop or something to match

I was able to get this account back into running condition.

I did not want to post specifics about it yet because of the oddness of the information they asked for just in case a pp employee was lurking among us.

In more then 2 years posting here I have never read anyone having to give them the items they asked me for. A large amount of different things that I have never seen posting here in the two plus years of being a member here.

Every time I sent something they went one more step and asked for even more information.

I spent 3 days working on and getting them the information and got the good to go word in an email, checked the account and its ready to go.

Yes, I was able to fix the DOB issue by using some very cleaver thinking. :D

I never gave up hope to get this "particular" account back and it paid off.




What I will share is the fact that this all started when PP sent me the IRS info and I was not even close to the 20k limits.

Everyone needs to be prepared for this letter if you hit 10k and 200 items as I believe with the holiday season coming up they are going after those accounts that have the "potential" of hitting those marks.

Just wanted to let everyone know this account is up and running and doing great.

At no time have I read that anyone has been asked for a truckload of docs like I was.

I was able to get this fixed even with a mismatching DOB.

Long long time ago when I had to change my name with one of my legit account, the birthday did not match the one on account. As part of the process to change your name, you must submit a utility bill and photo ID. I added a note to telling Paypal that the birthday on the ID is the correct one, whilst the one on file was wrong as I rushed the registration. A day or two later, my name was successfully changed, and so was my birthday.

Keep in mind that this account was in a very good standing at the time of the name change, had previous sales activities already, and does not have any limitation histories.

I merely was trying to let people know who posted that this account would be toast if the DOB did not match that it can be done with some cleaver thinking just like you posted.

Congrats on your account. Feels good to beat them especially when they toss more then normal stuff at you and you can get the account back.

I was waiting for them to give up my kids next.

This is my real info, real account, real everything so it makes it that much sweeter. When I thought it was a goner many years ago.
