how does paypal verify the age of the users? if you have all the information set up, can they find out if they are under 18?

only if you had to send in like passport, or some sort of i.d other than that no :)

EBAY: doesnt run the ssn
PAYPAL: does, at one time or another.
AND--theres no way to get around the ssn check...

I think greg is answering from a UK perspective since he wouldnt have to submit a SS number. (this is why its good to put flags up i suppose)

When Ebay verifies your EIN with a business account. Do they see everything or just the name that the business it is connected to? :rolleyes:

Yes, plus Paypal handles funds/ basically fronts u the money while they collect from the buyers bank, etc..So in effect--they are advancing u funds.. :)

Can anyone tell me about EIN?
 

THey want my EIN but of course I am using a fictitious name. What to do. I am still able to withdraw funds in the meantime but I am sure the you know what is about to hit the fan. If I provide them with the EIN, do they look up all the info of just see that the EIN matches my business name?

Any thoughts what will happened if I send ssn with name match,but street address on credit file is different ?Will it be approved by paypal?

What ever happened with paypal requesting your EIN number? Did you pass through it with just the EIN or do they want more?

No you can't enter someone elses SSN unless it matches the name exactly that is attached to the SSN. If you have a family member,friend or associate that is willing to let you use their name and SSN then yes you can input that number. This question has been posted on this site alot and one that I was wondering and did find the answer to. I hope this helps.:)

Paypal social security number or EIN?
 

Does anyone know if I can use a employer identification number instead of my social security number for paypal. I have done everything right and things are going great but sooner or later i might have to submit my SSN. If i could avoid this then i got ebay and paypal nailed to the wall. :D

You can't exist on ebay forever under cover.
You must have a proxy--a relative who will establish an account
under their name, address, phone number, etc and allow you to run the business.
This should be a blood relative only.
Every one I know loves easy money so offer incentives to this relative up front and
every time you make a sale say 1% of net. As a bonus incentive, if their SS#/DL is ever needed an added $500 for producing each. Just think each step will be welcomed and you will be glad to pay as your proxy identity and trust will be established and solidified. This will go a long way for your peace of mind rather than going to sleep each night worrying for the rest of your life.

You can last on eBay FOREVER..just ditch paypal and get a merchant account
