| | | imthatguy | 12-11-2008 02:53 AM | Paypal check age of SSN????? Does Paypal checks the age of the SSN that you provide when they ask for it? |
| Exeneva | 12-11-2008 05:13 PM | If you give them SSN, I would assume they can find your age, or at least your birth date. |
| GreenBean | 12-11-2008 05:20 PM | Modee, I was pretty sure it was discussed before as well. However imthatguy and I spent quite some time looking for the information with the search. But neither of us had any luck.
So I said to imthatguy, Let's leave this as a thread 'cos probably Modee or HWGA might help with an answer. One down, one to go, eh?
ps, kinda thinking it might have disappeared like deleted threads posts etc.;) |
| aspkin | 12-11-2008 05:34 PM | If the date of birth is the only thing that is off, I don't think it will be a big deal. PayPal usually focuses on your credit and I guess name and address. If one minor thing is off, is that cause for alarm? I don't think so. |
| Here We Go Again | 12-11-2008 06:38 PM | My understanding (I could be wrong) is that they use the SSN to run the credit check to check your identity.
We all know that they will be given the name, address, city, state, DOB, other addresses and credit score.
I know that I personally have information on my real credit check that is WAY off base.
So there is probably information that they do NOT use.
If they do check the DOB from the Credit check and compare it to the one you posted when registering on PP if it is close it should be OK
BUT if the DOB on your credit check says you were born in 1922 and you used 1984 when you filled out your PP application, that might throw up a flag.
I am sure they are focusing more on the name & address information to compare to the info you used at account set up time. Once again this is my opinion and NOT fact. |
| kraftness | 12-19-2008 11:49 AM | If the account holder is under age or deceased, the PayPal account will be permanently limited.[/QUOTE]
My brother has been "my deceased" brother for many years. He has had checking accounts, credit cards and on and on. He even filed for food stamps when he hurt his back and couldn't work and they gave them to him! No one has ever said a word... |

You have ruined the credit for someone less then 10 years old.
I hate to tell you but his SSN is already in the system of the 3 Credit Bureaus.
And look... You have already messed up his credit.
I have names for people like you, but I can't say them here.
It is about the same think I call a child molester. |

some of you people are just plain rude and really need to get your acts together
especially you HWGA, you seem to get away with a lot of snotty remarks on people.. if you're having a bad day, you shouldnt take it out on the members of the forum. He simply offered a sugestion and you compare him to a child molester... is that called for? |
| Here We Go Again | 12-26-2008 03:21 PM | ^^^^
Yes it is called for...
What if that was your kid he was thinking about screwing up their credit?
How would you feel then?
Why even think about picking on kids...
Uncalled for and unacceptable. |

Uncalled for and unacceptable. | Once again I agree. Don't screw up someone elses life to possibly make yours better. HWGA does make some comments I do not agree on but this subject is crazy, abusing someone elses credit is rediculous. |

You SHOULD NOT be selling VERO On a LEGIT Account,,,,What are you Thinmking???
It is Nice to have a 100% Legit Paypal Account wit a Social Security Number attached to it and a Debit Card, and Whatever Else, But you NEED To STOP Selling VERO Thru it,,,,,
That what Stealth Accounts are For,,,,, |
| FandangoKango | 09-11-2010 12:44 AM | I get your point. Good point. I was thinking money :) lol |
| ajonate | 02-10-2011 05:39 PM | The SSN thing really disturbs me, particularly for maintaining multiple accounts. As I understand what's been said here about that, PayPal doesn't mind multiple accounts under the same SSN, and also doesn't convey duplicate SSN information to eBay. That's fine if the condition holds, but the axe could fall at any time for people with multiple eBay accounts, since PayPal could start passing that information on to eBay at the drop of a hat.
It just seems like too big of an opening to give them. The SSN information is right in front of them. I know that the Canadian account route is a lot more trouble, but it seems to be the only safe route available, at least for multiple accounts. |
| pinkmilk | 02-11-2011 12:21 PM | This seems to be a huge circle -
(from what I am reading and I am a newbie here so bear with me)
You need a stealth ID/IP/BANK ACCT/CC/ADDRESS, fine all doable,
but in US you also need a valid SS# that links to a valid ID and ADDRESS for the Pypl credit check. "there is no way around the SSN check" is what I read.
If you have already used your own SSN/ADDRESS/NAME that is linked to a bad ebay account in the past - game over? As "Akari Lee" Could you say to pypl that you are not American born and have no SSN?
