The SSN thing really disturbs me, particularly for maintaining multiple accounts. As I understand what's been said here about that, PayPal doesn't mind multiple accounts under the same SSN, and also doesn't convey duplicate SSN information to eBay. That's fine if the condition holds, but the axe could fall at any time for people with multiple eBay accounts, since PayPal could start passing that information on to eBay at the drop of a hat.

It just seems like too big of an opening to give them. The SSN information is right in front of them. I know that the Canadian account route is a lot more trouble, but it seems to be the only safe route available, at least for multiple accounts.

You need a stealth ID/IP/BANK ACCT/CC/ADDRESS, fine all doable,
but in US you also need a valid SS# that links to a valid ID and ADDRESS for the Pypl credit check. "there is no way around the SSN check" is what I read.

If you have already used your own SSN/ADDRESS/NAME that is linked to a bad ebay account in the past - game over? As "Akari Lee" Could you say to pypl that you are not American born and have no SSN?

No, an EIN Number will not reveal Shareholders Names,,How ever, Providing Paypal with an EIN DOES NOT Guarantee that they will not ask you for a SSN,,I Have accounts where they have asked for BOTH

No you Cannot at some point the accounts will be Linked,,,

If in your Paypal limited account they are asking you for a Social Security Number there is Nothing you can do about this,,,

The Trick is to NEVER put Paypal in a Position to ask you for a Social Security Number,,,It really is not that hard to do

i have 2 ?'s
1. if my e bay/ pay pal accounts were old, a couple of years old now recently suspended, and i never supplied them with ss# could i make new accounts and when asked to supply ss# be in good standing even if home address was used in the suspended accounts or should i look to a new address and be able to use the ss# and not be linked
2. i have a paypal in good standing but linked to suspended ebay can i change/ delete personal info, bank accts, cc's, and then close the accounts will they still be ssaved in pay pals/ e bays system or would i be able to use a new email and make new accounts with those bank accts, cc's and how long should i wait to close the account -thanks

1) If you have Never Provided Paypal with a SSN and decide to make another account using the same info only this time Provid\ing you SSN, Your accounts would still be Linked to the Suspended Paypal,,I would NOT advise it,,,

2)You can NEVER Truly delete ANY information from Paypal,,It will ALWAYS be Linked together

" I am having the same problem. How can i set up mutiple Paypal accounts with out multiple SSN . I do not have any one willing to give me their ssn , & i have asked ! I read stealth , i just dont understand how to get around an ssn . I do not have an ein ? I am a US paypal account . I need help understanding this . thank you

Even thought your Paypal account will be a Business Account and have a Business Title an Individual within the Business will need to open and Manage that Paypal account, if Paypal asks for a Social security Number, the Person who Originally opened the Paypal account will have to Provide it.

No, Not really, a Merchant account is an Account that processes Credit or Debit Cards and deposits then DIRECTLY into Your Bank Account, NOT into another Companies Account like Paypal or Moneybookers, from where you would need to withdraw the money to Your account,,,BIG Difference.

What has changed is that now the IRS is REQUIRING all payment processors to report any sales over $20,000 and 200 items in any given year. So now, they are REQUIRED to get this information if it looks like you will exceed those limits. So, now, a lot more people are being affected by this.

I used to have 5 different ebay account, one got shut down all four went down too..I basically waste my 5 bank checking accounts..

Why did they all get shut down? At the same time? You somehow linked them.... Need to be more careful and brush up on stealth procedure...

Does anyone know if the situation is the same regarding Amazon? I have had a completely stealth Amazon account for more than a year now and have pulled in some decent sales and passed a review or two, but now I am worried about the whole EIN issue. I have an LLC and DBA, but if Amazon looked up either, they will see that I am the member/manager behind the businesses. I am especially scared about this since I found out that anyone can just go to their secretary of state's site and lookup this information, so it's not like Amazon has to pull any strings to find this out, just take the time to do so. Thoughts?

First and foremost,let me tell you that I do not know what,if any,investigative inquiries Amazon performs as it relates to the name(s) of individual(s) behind a business entity. However, I can tell you that you are correct,anyone can easily obtain that data by simply visiting the SOS website of any given state.All information regarding the structure of said listed entity is public information.
There is a legal way to keep your identity secret.You can hire a nominee.That person (for a fee) usually can be your agent for service as well.That person (usually an attorney) will list their name, ss# and contact info for all legal matters (business structuring)and then set up a S.corp or C.corp with your LLc as the the major shareholder(controller).I would suggest you speak with an Corporate Atty and/or CPA for your specific needs.I would also Incorporate in either Wyoming or Delaware.These services cost a little bit,but can be worth the $. A simple Google search can point you in the right direction.Good Luck.......
