possible troubles with IPs as house has no electricity

So I was at a relatives 18 months ago and logged into my suspended , then active and good of course account and logged into my new account yesterday at same residence...the ip is static and i could not change it ..but my question is will they link you from a one time use 18 months ago on that account to same ip used now on the new account...and if they can how? Is it a automatic thing that shows up on their system? very nervous about this mistake?

GrannyT 10-31-2011 10:20 AM

Stop worrying - far too long to matter

rsot 10-31-2011 10:29 AM

One time mistake is unlikely to cause you problems - don't repeat. This has happened to other folx and no problems repeated.

I would worry if its ebay or Amazon. They would both log the ip, among other things when signing in. If things link up, they could have you by the short and curlys!:pry:

Used restricted account's IP in error: what migh happen

So i was doing great until my electricity was severed days ago and it could be another week before it is restored due to this damn storm...and I am having to use others electricity and messed up and logged into my restricted account and stealth on sameip. they were on different users though so there are different cookies but I am so mad at myself...if I will be suspended how long will it take? hasanyone done this and had their account survive it?

newstart2 11-01-2011 03:07 AM

anyone have advice??

GreenBean 11-01-2011 04:01 AM

It was night in the US when you first posted. Forum not that busy....
.................................................. ..........................................

So long as you just signed in but did nothing there should be no problem. Having the user account like you stated shoudl work fine.

However, are you running an IP check before you do anything relating to your stealth account?
It's a recommended practice to do that.

aspkin created this handy tool , IPBurger | What is my IP Address? Find Your IP Address!

Make using that part of your routinue.:pop2:

it's still night here..just can't sleep...can't wait to return home and to normal life...so stressed to have no power for so long....but anyways yeah they were under different users. i am usually really good, I have a notebook to track ip's, its just I used a public wifi then forgot to switch users when i got back to my relatives and so on..it really scared me.

rsot 11-01-2011 10:06 AM

One time login is unlikely to cause problems.

newstart2 11-01-2011 11:47 AM

okay if they did link how long before they notified me? would it be same day?

Anyone else with no electricty

This is my 4th day w no electrictity, they said it could be days more, sick of staying w relatives..did the storm take anyone else power down? Can't believe its 2011 and this is happening:((

jbluntz 11-01-2011 05:35 PM

They do have things called generators and there's also hotel/motels other than that there's no storms around here.

newstart2 11-01-2011 05:41 PM

haha ....no generators anywhere in site and no hotels room for miles and miles available either. gas is even in short supply around here. I actually witnessed the only gas store in town open yesterday get robbed...it was like watching Cops live...appreciate your electricity, I will be so excited when I get mine back.

GreenBean 11-01-2011 06:02 PM

In case of a longish delay, have you thought to take down your listings? Just to cover yourself with shipping hassles etc... buyers react badly to delays in shipping. :(

newstart2 11-01-2011 06:05 PM

Yes they don't like that for sure. I went to the po today and managed to ship out my items luckily...can't print here. This is the 2nd time its happened in 2 months...I gotta move to Florida.

GreenBean 11-01-2011 06:12 PM

So that's twice in the space of a few hours you accessed accounts from different IPs?

That makes a lot of difference to how ebay might react.

In another thread I recommended maybe you should take done your listings.

Hav you tracked what IPs you used since I replied?

Holiday settings.

GTB 11-02-2011 05:40 AM

newstart you should buy a dongle to use with your account:)

FandangoKango 11-02-2011 05:55 AM

You might be linked in the future if you sell super high vero items.
