Default New EB Account with 100-items and $5000 per Month Limits

Has anyone been able to create an ebay sellers account that starts out with 100-item and $5000 per month limits WITHOUT using a social security number or EIN??

Maybe all real info of a friend or relative (but no SSN)?? Does anyone know what "public records" they are checking?? Name matched to address, DOB, etc?

You don't have to give it to them, but they aren't as strict if you do give it to them.

I also have 1 with NO limits

and one with 100/5000, the one with 100/5000, was BS info, I answered all the questions "never heard of this person" type answers.

Called, they asked what id be selling, I say "books" they tried the questions over the phone, told em "you have the wrong person" they raised em.

I made the guy 78 so I had to do my old man voice and use words like interweb and newfangled but it worked

just read the paper. when you find the guy that is going away to prison for 25 to life, "borrow" his info. he wont be needing it anyway! (kidding, please dont do this)

obviously the more real the info you put in the better your chances of getting past the bs. i too have one new account with no limits. not so lucky on the other 5

So making up stealth names from your head isn't identity theft? Im pretty sure the name you come up with someone exists out with that particular name. I wouldn't worry about taking some guys name who went to jail and getting in trouble for it.

About your theory to using the emails..... what email provider do you use? I don't think emails are that big of a importance to eb*y.

Making up a name and choosing a random address IS NOT identity theft. Looking up someone in the paper and using their info (regardless of whether or not they are on their way to jail) IS TEXTBOOK ID THEFT.

I mention the email thing because I've worked in fraud/risk for companies in the past and using gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc. added "risk points" when usi9ng your ISP email or the email from a private domain name did not add risk points. It's because companies know that these emails are completely anonymous (well maybe not completely).
