Default shipping from different state question

hi,I searched the forum for a while but cannnot find the answer i need so hoping to get some input. one of my stealths is is in MO, we are in Ny.I want to ship the item through ebay shipping using a flat rate box. I plan on covering the address part with my own little actual address label so the carrier will not inquire about it. My question is since I plan on using ebay shipping will ebay check the tracking and see where the item is originating from or is that irrelevant to them? and if the post office decides to be nosy and remove my address label and see the Mo address will i get in trouble? i shouldn't i am thinking cause the postage will be the same...any thought?

i have stealth accounts from all over the united states and never had a problem with anything, post office doesn't care and if they do ask you just tell them you do alot of drop shipping for other people. Its perfectly legal. I don't think putting your own address label is that big of a deal , and you are able to let the buyer know where to send the return if they do decide on it.

I ship from various names and addresses and do get questioned.

My answer is I sell for many people I have met over the years who do not want to bother dealing with ebay and packing so I make some good money doing it for them.

Usually no further questions.

I did get asked then why is someone from this state shipping and item from that state ( 1000 miles away ) and I tell them they shipped me a ton of stuff to sell for them.

It shouldnt be a problem as long as the postage is correct from the actual mailing location.

The return address is just that. if it needs to be returned it goes to that address. Many utilies for example come from your local office but have their main location or branch that is out of state or something on the envelope. No big deal

That's the best way for sure. I've always felt most comfortable doing it that way.

Another thing is..... even though the drop box says it only accepts packages if they are 13 ounces or less, I've put packages weighing over 3 lbs in it with no problems.

Yes that's true but the kiosk is actually a self serve mailing station and every flat rate box fits in there so I don't think that rule applies to the kiosk

This is right on point. I've been doing it for a few years now to avoid the drones pestering you and your business practice.

Like anyone else with a sh*tty day job, most of them want to know what you do so they can get a piece of the action and steal your ideas.

I don't even go to the post office, just drive by any usps mailbox and drop'em in there, as long as it's under 13oz. of course.

High profit items under 13oz is a difficult and dangerous game. Not for the lazy or weak at heart.

I had a return due 2 the addrss being from another state. Basically, i've moved from one state to another and forgot to change the return addrss on the labels. Everything was fine until I had to go back to pick up mu stuff. Well, to my surprise i discovered a bis ass envelop that has 15-20 of mine packages in it with a not that i cannot send them with an addrss being from another state.
