Any way to hide your name?

So I just got my paypal account back. Anyway, I want to hide my name for personal reasons when receiving paypal payments. I remember when I sold stuff, my customers would get an email with my real name and email address.

I want to remove or change my name to a business name. I have a premier account. Is this possible without upgrading to a business account?

I don't want to upgrade to business since my tax and business registration isn't finalized yet and afraid that paypal would ask for documentation should I put in ⊗⊗⊗⊗ info. Any info would be appreciated.

I don't think you can do this without upgrading to a business account.

In the past, PayPal Premier accounts could be used to accept payments for your store. PayPal now requires that merchants adding PayPal to their store either sign up for, or upgrade to a PayPal Business account, which will allow you to operate under a business name for the same fees. When your shoppers view payment pages on PayPal during checkout and receive payment notices from PayPal, your business name registered with PayPal will appear in the "Pay To" field.

I'd be interested in what others might have to say about this though.

You can not change name, no. And if you could you dont want to. To use biz name you need biz account

I use prem on my website with no problems. But buyer does see name on account

Just as I thought. I'm starting a website and plan to use paypal as payment processor. Don't wish for my customers to see my real name. Looks like I'll have to upgrade to business account. Any other thoughts?

If you are using real info then I dont see an issue with going biz. Or maybe I'm missing something.

What I meant was just go business if using real info. You can supply all info needed and name it anything you want

or use another payment processor that accepts paypal like ccnow where you can do what you like

CCN ow invoice will show the name of the account registration.

Real info: Go biz and call it anything you want. If its real info you have no problem supplying info

Stealth: Use any name you want

Is there something with a biz account that you want to avoid? I only have Prem so maybe I'm missing the clutch

^ Many reasons. The most important reason for me is that I want to remain anonymous, given the product I'm planning to sell. I can get a biz name, but time consuming and I could start selling today, if only I could withhold my real name in the pp receipts.

Upgrading your account to a business one is the only way. I can't think of any other methods

Ok my account is currently premier. I don't see anywhere within paypal that I can upgrade to business. Anyone know how? Thanks!

To upgrade your account, go to the Sign Up page and click open
Page will open showig 3 types of accounts
Topline above business account has UPGRADE yadda yadda yadda.

follow the prompts :D


Word of warning.... be careful of what you want to do.
Read what paypal 'say' they want if you upgrade to business.
