Another BOLO item is classic or vintage games.

Many older board games bring good money on ebay.

Make sure the game is complete or near complete and not musty, stained etc.

For example I recently purchased a 1940s Monopoly game at a yard sale for 2.50.

It was complete, clean, and had the dice, figurines ( some can be rare themselves ) and most of the money. Board was nice also.

Sold on ebay for 65.00

Yesterdays find:

Huge box of legos and a box of matchbox cars.

Legos will make me some money but the matchbox cars had a mix of 1970s older cars and new cars. The 1970s car included a rare color of Mustang.

Never pass up on boxes if items.

Its off topic, but all these items seem to be things that eb was made for. Literally. None of these items you're talking about would cause any kind of ruckus on eb.

What's your eB takedown story and what led you here? Professional buyers? Ridiculous complaints?

I actually still have my original 1995 ebay account as does my husband.

The point of this thread was to help people find things that will be perfect for your first few items on a new account.

I actually made my first stealth account in 2003 and still have that account today. Did not realize the monster I created in 2003.

In 2008 ebay shut down my account for 1 year because someone did a bait and switch on me for item into the 1000s. The hubby sent them a message telling them he would be showing up on their porch to get my item back or to pick up the money. Ebay took this as a threat and shut me down for a period of time. I made a stealth account back in 2003 so I knew it could be done but did not realize what it would be today back then. I actually went to it for sales while they played around with my account. When I looked for a way to get it back before one year was up I came across this forum but already made a stealth years before.

I have close to 500 working ebay sellers accounts and a couple hundred paypals as I believe they will grandfather accounts in the future so I will be prepared.

I still have my original Amazon, etsy, bonanza, ruby lane etc accounts.

I also sell in 7 different antique malls.

Ebay is a hobby as the husband runs a huge company and makes extremely good money, so this is a hobby for me that has blossomed into a very large 6 figure income from my hobby.

I love helping others and getting making money doing what I love to do, picking has been a part of my life since I was a kid. Not many people get to enjoy what they do and make good money at it also.

Used to be that ebay gave some credence to accounts made prior to November 2007.

for starters, paypal was not needed for USA accounts.

ebay was a little kinder to them. we described them as 'grandfathered in'....

Now, unless those accounts have had activity all the time, they do not get much better treatment.

In some cases, ebay thinks the account is hacked. They suspend it quickly to check the account security

Some of us are thinking ahead and creating accounts to be on the game as ebay changes rules.

Meaning Star Wars? Most of what I bought in this box is loose vintage lego pieces and a few figurines etc were in the box.

The way to clean large sums of old legos is to put them in a tote with water and a bit of vinegar and it cleans them up to be like new.

We were at Disney Star Wars Weekends gathering the last two days buying up all the special items we were allowed to purchase.

Yes they have a huge display of Lego sets including many limited Star Wars boxed sets.

Will post some pictures of the event when I get a chance.

Star Wars weekends is amazing. People all dressed up in Star Wars gear.

They have a large building set aside for just selling Star Wars items for the Star Wars weekends.

21 cash registers and a line to get in outside the door.

Do not limit yourself to just picking at yard sales, thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets.

Expand your thoughts and you can make some crazy money.

The goodwills and thift stores down here suck big time, they are picked clean before you even get there by well excuse my racism, Haitians. It is their cultural thing i guess.

What about other sources? estate sales, auction houses, flea markets, online etc.

I bought a huge lot of Walt Disney vintage items last night online.

I am in Florida and half the people do not speak a word of English and clean the shelves off of items I would not want to buy anyway.

What state are you in?

Some good money can be found with old books. I keep my eye out for ones from the 1900s and earlier, illustrated and/or 1st editions that are hard cover.

Turned 2 x .10 items into 50 and 95 each. Found out the author of the $95 book wrote a sequel on the same subject that is easily 300+.

Antiques roadshow has shown multiple books in the $1000+ range also, the idea of finding one of these just keeps me searching whenever I see them!

My county library has a separate drop-off location to the side right after the entrance, and anyone can look through what was left and take books for free (they were donated anyway!)

Not all books are expensive though, stay away from Book Club editions (should say inside the front cover) as they are essentially worthless. If it's super old and super cheap, why not take the small risk? Learn something new along the way too!

Having been involved with books, O/P (out of print) editions, POD and lightning source produced books are nice. Some of the medical type books are very rare and have insane margins. If you can find them there are some real gems!

I have bought car, motorcycle repair manuals by the box fulls at auctions and did very well with those always.

Todays find!

1960's Flexible flyer sled.

Like new other then minor rust on the metal.

Paid 19.99 for it.

Does not need any restoration or anything. Top is like new.

Should get 100-150 range.

Remember--- people love to buy back things they had as a child.

Just checked my inbox and won 4 auctions last night on items online.

These items were on a online auction site and not ebay.

You can buy without leaving your home easily.

These items were amazing pieces that I was shocked to win each one of them.
