Anyone have a Top Rated Seller badge & PP hold?
 

Does anyone have any experience or knowlege with being a Top Rated Seller and the 21 day PP hold? Is there ever a connection?

I still have the PP hold, and they say they review it but I keep changing my patterns (withdrew some money when I normally don't, the last person told me) but I'm ---> this far <---- from becoming a Top Rated Seller, do you think that will make a difference with Paypal?

not really... remember that paypal and ebay are trying to present themselves as two different entities.

I have a TRS account that only has like 95 feedback on it. Account is only 4 months old and it still has the holds. But they have been releasing the funds the same day the item gets delivered. Not even waiting for the buyer to leave feedback.

Last time I was on the phone with ebay I told the rep that I have already cleared all this information with pp and sent them all these docs. Rep said we are not pp and we need to have this info ourselves.

Do they really believe we dont know they are one in the same?

The 21 day holds is base on your seller performance when I last talk to eBay. I have similar problem but it's gone when my account is back to good standing

Their plan is to keep it apart on the operation level. I'm pretty sure that upper management is the same for both.
I really don't know why they would combine them though, makes so much sense and would make life on sides easier!

21 day hold have nothing to do with paypal. the 21 day hold is placed by EBAY on the funds until they are satisfied the item has been delivered or 21 days

Most of the explanations are partially or fully wrong.

The 21 day PayPal hold is strictly based upon how risky they think your activity is. When I started selling, I didn't have the hold. As I sold more, I got the hold put on my account. After a while, they took it off.

I went to a casino and withdrew money using my ATM card. The next day, the hold was back on. Another few days later, they called to verify selling activity on my account (nothing verifying casino charges).

Now about a week ago, my hold is gone again. Throughout all of this, I maintained a 5.0 DSR and 100% feed back with over couple hundred feedback.

Its all based upon how risky they think you are. Many, many factors can play into how they associate risk with your account.

You mean that you used paypal debit card in a casino and got 21 days hold???

Yes pretty much. The PayPal rep did not specifically say this, but there was absolutely no other out of the ordinary or different sales or transactions happen in my account.

I imagine that they see money being withdrawn at a casino as HIGH RISK though lol...I wouldn't blame them.

Well this is just insane! I mean you supplied all the docs to get the card... they did a credit check on your and all the other stuff that they require there... and you are still have no liberty to use your money freely! I understand casino part... I usually get a call from my bank. They verify that everything is ok and all works... But no paypal has to slap a hold on u! Sometime i really wonder if they do it on purpose to make sure that those money won't move to earn some interest on them!

Well if you look at it from PayPal perspective...casino transactions are as high risk as they get (probably). They don't want me to sell 100 items, go gamble and lose all the money, and then all of a sudden have 20 refunds with no money to pay.

As far as the credit check...they don't do this for a Debit card. For the PayPal Extras Mastercard, there is a credit check of course.

The hold makes no difference to me whatsoever...my money is normally released within a week anyways. But now, they took the hold off so its all gravy... :dance:

i called them once with this, the guy at paypal released everything and i told him, i'm withdrawing 1k. he said no problem.
