Yea it done it automatically as soon as i logged in to verify bank through paypal which I did.

It wouldn't let me sell anything at all till I verified account now it is only letting me sell 10 items

Perhaps it will reset later. I did have one where it did not increase until the start of the next month, so maybe the case on this one.

What about the address?

Are you listing items for sale for the first time or have you sold anything on it before asking for the limits to be raised?

I had bought and sold a couple of items before I asked for the raise. Perhaps something in that?

medway30 02-17-2012 07:37 AM

but it was strange that it wouldnt let me sell anything at all till i verified account normally you can start out selling 10 till bank is verified which then goes upto 100

Had you bought anything through the account?

medway30 02-17-2012 07:39 AM

the address is a real one but with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name
on this account it wouldnt let me sell anything till i verified bank which is a first as I said it normally allows you to sell 10 items

medway30 02-17-2012 07:40 AM

Ok thanks.

So it's not an address issue like the OP possibly has, so not sure if it's maybe a one off in your case.

Personally I always buy a few bits here and there before starting to sell very slowly. Once I get a few f/b in I then look to raise the limits because I figure it's probably how a normal newbie on e/b would do it and so far so good no issues with raising limits.

If the letter thing is going on as a new procedure folks will have to be very careful on how their new accounts are being set up.

Where I use an address variation I always test it first before registering to make sure RM deliver to it ok. I then buy a few bits and ask the seller to send recorded and add the tracking info to e/b. May be overkill but as far as e/b are concerned stuff I'm buying is being delivered to that address without any problems so shouldn't raise any flags.

medway30 02-17-2012 07:57 AM

guess will have to see how it goes :(

GrannyT 02-17-2012 09:58 AM

And the 'enemy' now know they have us all rattled - as GB says - how about we all wave a big flag
:argue:

I just started a new account.
It has a selling limit of 10 items and 1,000 USD.
It also has a button where that i can request higher limits.

Is this normal for a new account?

Everthing is verified and the address is a real house, But i have no access to this address in any way.

This is the UK we are talking about.

Your limits seem pretty standard for the US though.

I've got this issues as well, here is my story.

I've opened up a pp account after my original account with real info on it got shut downed(both pp and eb).

This new pp account was used with my gf's name and with the address variation of that used in the one that got suspended (eg. 1 xx road and 1a xx road).

The eb account was a few months old which was created by my gf herself and got 0 feedback on it.

pp verified all ok with real cc and ban details match the name and info on the pp acc.
so is the eb acc.

eb seller limit is 10item/gbp650 per month with this pp account (all limits lifted)
than I request an increased seller limit and they send me a letter to verify my address.
got that mail few days ago and verified my eb acc and now 100 item/gbp3500 permonth.

the thing is that this eb/pp acc was doen with out any stealth in mind because it was all done before i found out this forum and the ULTIMATE STEAHTH BOOK that was sooooo useful for me.

I think this account is considered infected but I still do small amount of selling on this acc currently. (with all the stealth measurement in mind to quarantine this infected acc with other new stealth acc i created/got)

Still waiting for my new bank acc and details to arrive, and will try to get my other stealth pp acc limit lifted and see if i will still got this letter verification thing.

I've got two accounts with this stranglehold on it at the moment. Both with bank accounts added and verified on paypal but still 10 items only and letter request when I try and up the limits.

Both are genuine addresses (I don't have access to - doh!) with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ names.

Made a new seller account this weekend. private account about 4/6 weeks old, verified p/p attached and NO LISTING LIMITS imposed.

Go figure:dance:

You guys are best off staying within the selling limits without asking for an increase and let eBay increase them automatically as you get feedback.

GrannyT 02-29-2012 09:19 AM

I think I'm with you on that one imjustme ;)

rsot 02-29-2012 09:41 AM

imjustme makes a valid point - juggling several accounts

imjustme 03-02-2012 03:31 AM

The last thing you want to have is eBay taking a close look at your account, which is exactly what they do when you call or send documents to raise limits.

rsot 03-02-2012 12:37 PM

Yes - I just go for auto limit increase when time has passed.

Way too many people in a hurry with new accounts. :nono:

Got to get this limit lifted, can't list this type of item etc. etc. etc. :deadhorse:

What is stealth all about?

Multiple accounts!!!

More accounts means higher limits, less scrutiny from e/b by not asking to lift limits and less scrutiny from p/p too.

Don't people get it?

Push e/b and they push back. :ban?: :rip:

Take your time and they welcome you in. :welcome;

It's in your own hands
