Default Private auctions

Do these private auctions that no matter the feedback it still says private raise red flags for eb*y? Just wondering b/c to me so far it seems like they do.

I always find the sellers with private feedback to be a bit on the dodgy side. As for private auction listings, I have done hundreds of these (where you cant see what auction was won when positive feedback is left) WITHOUT any specific problems.

I've done many auctions like this too, but with this certain item the listings keep getting taken down when i make them private... Its the only reason i can find.... b/c when i list them in any other way without this private then they are fine.

Ah maybe for your specific product, eb has too many sellers trying to keep themselves private shrug - seems odd though to be biased like that.

Im curious on what's better to do. Def keeps competition down on seeing your auction wording, and what not. I wonder who on here uses this and doesn't?

I do this on some accounts for this reason.

I had a seller almost copying my exact listing other then change a few words around.

When I went to private I knew someone was upset because I got a message "what are you hiding selling privately".

I then knew who she was because she used an second name to buy something. How I knew is I then turned around and bought something from her 1st account and the names matched perfectly.

I think most people use private to keep people from seeing the listings myself.
I know on very competitive areas I do.
Caught her red handed.
