May 2012 Return Policies?

In May 2012, we're updating our requirements for return policies. As a result, you may need to update the refund methods you offer, and increase the minimum time you'll accept returns.

What does this do to us?

Tightens the noose a little more.

it means buyers have more time to screw you.

Good inquiry.

these really isnt anything new. they have had an unofficial 45 day return policy forever, meaning if a buy decides they dont want the item for whatever reason, all they have to do is open a dispute and send it back and get a refund even if they dropped the item in a toilet on day 43.

KoltiKolt 02-29-2012 05:52 PM

yea exactly they have 45days to open a case. so even though you say return period 7 days only it does not mean anything...

unkown5454 02-29-2012 06:37 PM

They also have an infinite amount of time to file chargebacks. So who cares. I just had one from a customer 6 months ago...fun times for all.

accutinting 02-29-2012 08:02 PM

exactly this part of the policy shouldnt matter cause if a customer wants a refund i will gladly and quickly give it to them, even if its there fault I will work something out just so they stay satisfied. One mad customer can really do damage to your account if they know how...so why risk it?

You will be surprised how many customers do go by listing. If they see 14/30/60 days they are more likely to request refund. Although my policy has always been 14 or 30 days anyway.
