Default MC999 violation how to counter?

Well I just tried to list an authentic copy of a disney movie, little mermaid but they took down my listing 2 hours later.

however, I see a bunch of other people selling the same copy and listing it under the same category as mine. Is it because they have a lot of feedback already? Or is it because they didn't use the word "disney" in their additional description because thats what I did.

Should I try listing it again on a different account without using any additional description, just use the ready made format ebay has made?

I don't think it be wise to relist the item if it's already been taken down. If you have another account you should use that one. It could be that you didn't use Disney in the title but I don't do much listing on dvd section, maybe others who do have experience in that category will chime in.

Good Luck.

They will be watching you for now. I would avoid DVD on this account for now.

After reading around on this site and learning how DVDs can raise a red flag I only list DVDs and CDs on my account that's been open for 8 years. To tell you the truth, I can't really blame Ebay for this. When I used to buy a lot on Ebay in 2005 every single DVD I got was a burned copy with printed out covers :-/

I paid full price for these items too. It was a BIG problem but I think it's a lot better now and days.

So if you have an established account I would sell any DVD on that one. Otherwise, wait until you have an established account.

new account with DVD's not a good look. Try asking them to remove the violation in a nice email explain how your a young girl who is a student just trying to earn some money for books, calling however would be better. Make sure you do not relist that item, or put another vero up or you can kiss that account good bye.

Until you have an account in really good standing avoid listing ANYTHING Disney. Avoid named goods. Then list only if you are confident of the account.

Now is the time for you to learn how to nuture accounts to get them over the various hurdles.

Disregard the fact the other sellers are listing Disney. Disney DVDs are actively pulled & accounts get lost.

Concentrate on bomb-proofing your own account
