Can Paypal see your name if you verifying your account on stealth paypal. With example bank of america which is in your real name. I did this and they did a micro despoist and then on the same day they took the money back? is this normal? will paypal see my name when it goes back to them?

It's a controversal answer. Most follows the bandwagon and says yes, but some gurus on the forum has claimed otherwise. Personally I never had any issues with bank names. Don't take my answer as a definite one.

If they take the deposits, I would fully expect them to be able to see the name on the bank account as a receipt is generated from the bank sending back the cash. NOW, will it affect your account? Seems low chance but it`s a chance nonetheless. I am thinking that pp does this to make sure it`s not a gone-within-few-days type of VBA.

What I mean is the microdeposit vba types - sure they might know but there is also a chance that the "vba" is NOT a vba but a real account for someone...that's what I mean.

Not the instaverify type.

Probably one of the more popular questions being asked on the forum these days. Have a search around and btw, Binary answered your question as best we know at this point.

Account number is still coded to ID the type.

Someone would have to know the banking laws and regulations to know.

Paypal is not a bank therefore they are not privy to your information thanks to the Patriot Act.

My guess is they are pulling this to see if a bank slips up and does give them a name.

And if a bank does give up this info they are also in deep trouble as they are suppose to protect your info.

They don't "accidentally slip up", the payments are transferred via ACH batches. It's either they see it or they don't. There is no otherwise.

My point was that if pp is doing this purposely to circumvent the Patriot Act then they should be held accountable.

The Patriot Act is actually suppose to protect those names unless their is a court action to release that information. Do you agree?

Paypal does not see the name, otherwise all the accounts that I have creating and using daily would be limited already. I have used ALLY, and other banks which not issue some get the return deposits, its very random.

I don't see how Paypal taking funds back has anything to do with the PATRIOT act. I also don't recall anywhere on how the PATRIOT act suppose to "protect" your name in the way which you have mentioned either. Then again I'm not a lawyer, feel free to enlighten me.

Like I said before, it is not known for sure on whether if Paypal can see your name or not. They could only be recovering those funds to reduce losses for all the funds used for account verification for all I know.
