Buyer not yet receive item & left Neg fb without communication

A buyer just left me a Red without contacting me first, saying that he hasn't received his item yet (already 40days to Russia).
I already refunded and sent a request to revise FB. In case the buyer doesn't response, what can I do to have the Red removed? I don't believe Ebay will remove for me because this is my fault not making the buyer satisfied.
If I offer him some money (besides refunded amount) to remove, does this violate Ebay's policies? If so, should I send him a private message to offer?
Please share me your own experience.
Thanks.

Yes it is.

You can only hope that refunding him is enough to make him reverse the f/b

Gamefreak 03-29-2012 04:47 PM

you made crucial mistake. Communicate with buyer first get them to remove feedback then refund.

Shipping to RUSSIA was also unwise.

Postage to there from November to April ( their winter) is often delayed.

Re-consider your shipping destinations.

OK to sell an item but if shipping delays cause damage to the account not so good:rip:

Am I not? What can I do? :D
However, this is just a minor problem compared to my concern in my latest post regarding PP requiring SSN on all accounts (if you already read it).

Bingo 03-29-2012 10:45 PM

I just checked his fb left for other sellers.

Guess what? He opened case for 30 other sellers with the same problem, WTH???

jamblix 03-29-2012 11:20 PM

This is why I don't ship internationally, besides a few exceptions who I know will pay and cause no problems. One neg isn't so grim, it looks bad at first but, sooner or later it'll be lost in a sea of green if you play your cards right.

Javelin 03-29-2012 11:37 PM

Mistake: Shipping to the Russian Federation. It's a complete No-No.
To go along with Italy, entire continent of Africa, and some parts of South America
like Brazil.

NEVER ship to these destinations, it's their MO to do these kinds of stuff.

NoneOther 03-30-2012 03:25 AM

The alternative is to ship everything using tracked mail.

More expensive I know but they are paying and if you clearly state in your listing that you use only tracked mail for overseas shipping it deters the scammers and if you get a buyer then they are usually genuine in my experience.

I ship to all the above with the exception of Africa and never have an issue because its tracked.

Bingo 03-30-2012 06:34 AM

I am selling items that are hard to sell in the US only. That is why I can't avoid international shipping. And unfortunately, many of my buyers are from Brazil, I haven't had any problem with Brazilian so far, but I think need to reconsider.
And also, I can't use tracking because the shipping cost will be equal to the item costs themselves, no one is going to buy my items with tracking fee.

Thanks, is that because the severe weather causes the airplane delay or due to their custom?

NoneOther 03-30-2012 06:38 AM

Their customs service are a nightmare and the reason for most delays.

I send stuff all over the world and often the shipping cost is higher than the item cost.

Don't forget some items are very hard to come by in many countries and are considered highly desirable so buyer will pay whatever if its what they want.

In my experience most of these are being bought to sell on anyway so for the right stuff they will pay

GreenBean 03-30-2012 06:44 AM

@Bingo

Their Customs are so bad. The internal postal service is nearly non-existent.

Bad combination for international freight. :juggle:

Been one of their worst winters. In January 15 people froze to death in the capital.(homeless Muscovites).

Do you consider tax issue when doing this?
If the shipping cost is too high, you will reach 20k very quickly but your income is just similar to selling locally.
Anyway, perhaps you're selling something that international buyers are so desirable to pay for Express mail. They like my items too but there are many sellers selling the same items as mine so I'm not sure they will accept to pay extra for me :D

So based on which amount will you have to pay tax? Sorry I don't know about UK rules.

NoneOther 03-30-2012 03:13 PM

Nett income.

Postage costs are a legitimate business expense and are deducted from gross income along with other allowable expenses like premises, phone, internet etc

Oh that's very nice, I think it's fairer than charging on sales of 20k.

NoneOther 03-30-2012 03:33 PM

Obviously that only applies to legitimate businesses not private individuals who, if they actually declare the income from e/b sales would be taxed on the full amount.
