Pros & cons of stealth address types

Hello everyone,

First time post here so be gentle.

I'm just looking for some clarification on what type of address to use for a stealth eBay account. This is what I'm understanding after reading the guide and researching the forum so far:

Family or Friend
Pros: Easy access for returns and postal verifications / Easy to lift PayPal limits using debit/credit card in their name
Cons: You don't want to risk getting them involved if things go wrong

Variation of real address
Pros: Easy access for returns and postal verifications. (if address is very similar and it gets to you ok) / Easy to lift PayPal limits using debit/credit card in your own identity but obviously a new card
Cons: High risk of failing a manual review or automatic linking.

Virtual office / mailbox
Pros: Fairly easy access for returns and postal verifications / Less risk of them linking accounts to you / Good chance you'll already have some proof of address ID if asked by PayPal (such as rent invoice)
Cons: The address might already be blacklisted from a previous suspended user / Increased cost per account / Will need a VCC in virtual office address

Empty house, shop, pub or warehouse
Pros: High chance that you will not get linked / Easy to get creative with ID.
Cons: No access to returns or postal verifications / Will need a VCC in this address

Random residental address
Pros: Very high chance that you will not get linked
Cons: Unethical and I wouldn't like it done to me / Will need a VCC in this random address

I've probably missed a few but hopefully that covers the majority.

Personally thinking it's looking like a virtual office/mailbox or empty commerical property is looking good. The only concern I have with the virtual office address is that it's probably already been blacklisted.

I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Cheers,

Steve

Welcome to the forums. Good analysis on the large part with your own judgement in play. I prefer the mailbox route - you can actually make slight alterations to avoid it being "blacklisted" on the offchance. There are a few posts around about p.o.b.'s in the UK but wait a little bit and I am sure other UKers will post.

All the best.

I've seen that said a lot. I'll just keep researching the forums and I'm sure I will find alternatives or something will pop into my head!

Thanks.

Just think about thing from e/b & p/p's perspective.

What is going to look right to them?

A private seller with a PO Box or a mail box/suite number?

I would say that a private seller wouldn't look right with either of those. A business seller would probably look best with a company name on top of a virtual office address.

eg. Widget Store, 192 High Street

Not...

Mr. Widgets, Suite 274, 192 High Street or
Mr. Widgets, PO Box 999
