ebay strikes again

not been on ebay in about 5 months, created an account tonight total stealth same details that have been keeping my amazon going for ages and boom, listed 2 items and they suspended account until i send them photo ID and photos with me holding the items.

i thought i would take a dip in their waters again but its too much hassle.

GTB 04-04-2012 03:11 PM

same info

what was you selling?

you said total stealth, but same info

what info was the same?

NoneOther 04-04-2012 03:12 PM

Listing on a brand new account just opened is a killer these days :faint:

Imakemoney 04-04-2012 03:29 PM

I have noticed that if you try to list on an account in the 1st week of creation over the past month about 30-40% seem to be getting taken out by ebay. :smash:

rsot 04-04-2012 03:34 PM

Listed way too quickly - also maybe listed high risk items, maybe?

Imakemoney 04-04-2012 03:36 PM

Ebay seems to be clamping down on new accounts listing even one items in the UK at the moment unfortunately - seems like they like to ask new members for proof of ID, address & items are in your possession at the moment.

yotano211 04-04-2012 04:34 PM

I think he seems the same info that he as on his Amazon account. And yea, you made the account tonight and you listed 2 things already. Dude that is way too fast.

Start out with one thing and let the account age pass the 30 days. I have made accounts and about 85% are just fine.

As his amazon account :D

GreenBean 04-05-2012 02:31 AM

vlb,

You cooked your own goose.

If you had not 'used' ebay for 5 months did you check in here?

ebay has changed in the past 4 weeks.

You got to be READY for them.

A simple fact of being stealth. :peace:

As it stands today ebay is going to restrict more accounts on 1st activity than ever before:smash:

taken out completely? so not restored after following the steps....?

Imakemoney 04-05-2012 03:35 AM

Yeah sure I've had them restored after following the steps - its just an extra hurdle to get over when first starting out an account. Although i suppose if you follow it the account should be stronger in the long run...:thumb:

Callidus 04-05-2012 03:37 AM

Learnt this lesson on the first ever stealth I opened! Listing in the first 2 weeks even got me taken down, provided them what they wanted and I was back up running !

Dont list too soon

oompaloompa 04-05-2012 03:37 AM

yes, its stronger after - some people actually try and trigger it to get it over with.....

Agreed, the account that got suspended of mine had no holds from week 3 through PP not sure if that could of been related?

rsot 04-05-2012 10:32 AM

I still like the idea of account building with buying first.

NoneOther 04-05-2012 10:40 AM

Totally agree :thumb:

subzero3001 05-31-2012 05:11 PM

They do only for Vero.

sokol3k 05-31-2012 06:20 PM

I open new acc and wait one month until i start trading. After a month i start selling when one is ready i go to the next one and create a new one and so on... Never try to sell anything on the first day, this is not how noobs start ebay acc, we should behave like proper newbies.

pr0wake 05-31-2012 08:10 PM

is it advisable to get some feedback before selling? I've been buying items <$.50 with free shipping, about 3-4 a day.

also, do the selling limits automatically go up? right away they are 10 items and $500. In what fashion do these evolve?

GreenBean 05-31-2012 08:20 PM

@prowakeskater

I always get feedback B4 selling.

I stay well away from those small items <$.50 in case of being tagged for feedback manipulation. New accounts these days I have a feedback budget of $80-$100 to spend.
Such accounts will be flourishing (if all goes well) for the holiday season at year's end. I expect to recoup the feedback funds.:heh:

Ah, selling limits.... replies are along the lines of how long is a piece of string. As much as I dislike generalising, every account is different. I'll have a quick look for recent threads :D

GreenBean 05-31-2012 08:26 PM

pr0wake 05-31-2012 11:19 PM

ok so is 10 feedback a safe number?

I'm thinking it can go like this-

register, get verified, register selling account, get limits (10/500)

wait 30 days, build 10 feedbacks, start selling, hit limits? ask to raise limits?

I know that once the ball gets rolling, you want to hit your limits each month, so come evaluation time, they raise it, then hit those, then next time they're lifted.

It seems I'm missing an important step in-between. I can't decide if requesting higher limits would be appropriate for starting out, or after you sell a couple items, starting off slowly?

I'm on these forums all the time now, and I'm NO stranger to forums. Im avidly into street bike riding, and my cars- lancer evolutions. I learned almost everything about the cars in about a year. Tune them myself now too...

anyways if you're too lazy to answer I will still thank you for the info you have led me to :D

thanks GreenBean!

Why you have 10 items and 500$ ? Did go to ebay website and linked paypal acc with it?

I have always 100 units a month or 3,500 grand limit.

10 items per month is when you are not veryfied pp userr. Confirm bank acc your address and your limit will be 100.

This always happens to me .

o_o really, wait so. Make paypal/ebay acc. ---> confirm paypal with vcc or any cc and bank acc ---> go to ebay click link paypal acc ----> then immediately try to sell something (which makes seller acc). ---> Then your limits should be 100? o_O.

Does this only work in UK? I never did the steps exactly like that but my limits are always rly crappy like 10/500 or 10/1000 the standard. Does it matter what your first item you're trying to sell is?

It has always worked for me in the UK. Although unlike others have said, I have never had an issue listing a few items on a brand new account. In fact, I would have thought that this is what most new sellers would do, so I do not think that it would look out of the ordinary to eBay.

sokol3k 06-01-2012 06:33 PM

Yep uk might be different. I have opened just recently 3 stealth acc and all of them have 100 units per month limit. Just because i have linked my bank acc and vcc card.

Thats very interesting.. Hmm how diferent ebay works

When People "Rush" Accounts to selling too soon it because they are NOT Perpared,,They have a Few accounts going well, and start to convince themselves that they got the whole Ebay Riddle solved,,,,

When in fact they should have a couple of accounts that are aging,,NOT selling at all in the First Month, Then only selling 100% Safe items,,,accounts that are actually BUYING more than selling,,,getting older, with more feedback,,,

This way when Reality sets in and they are reminded that they did not solve anything when one of their Main selling accounts "Come under Seige" from Ebay. If they were properly prepared all they would have to do is simply "Roll Out" the Next account which should be at LEAST 3 Months old with mabe 10 or so Positive feedback for Buying and maybe 5-7 for selling, and "Press" it into Full time service,,and of Course create a Brand new account to start the Process all over again,,,

Using your Brains and a "Little" work will keep you from starting threads like This:

clapclap 06-02-2012 02:21 PM

i never link my PP Account to my EB account until they ask me to do it through my first

listing. This has always worked for me and i have not had any account lost YET.

If you list vero at any stage within the first 4 months i believe you are going to get a flag.

There is 100's of ways to list and its all about finding a way that works for you for what you want to sell.

Ie: If you start an account by selling things from around the house then start selling brand new vero in large volumes you are going to get flagged.

Its all about acting like the average joe wanting to make a million :D

Hi senior, didnt see much Asian member in the subscriber area. Maybe the stealth book consider EX for us. :bounce: Not for me (no pay no gain).

Things in Asia work different. I started a stealth account in April selling 10 item (Original + Vero). Got it verified in May telling ebay i am selling Original item. They lifited it to (50/$700).

So in May i sold 20 item (2 original + 18 Vero), limit up at $700. I need advice should i increase the limit & sell more cos for the pass 3 account that i have, once it reach selling 50 items. BANG:mad::ban?: all goes down.

clapclap 06-02-2012 03:44 PM

i couldnt comment on the Asian market but it seems you have answered your own question 'for the past 3 accounts that i have... it seems you need to change your listin pattern. If you lost 3 accounts you should take a different approach.

Way too much vero.... If 50 seems to be the invisible line then why keep crossing it? Spread sales more.

:amen:didnt help me & give me direction:juggle:
