can I make ebay wait 180 days for fees

so paypal closed my stealth account and ebay have requested fees from paypal but it was declined, I know I owe the money and intend to pay so wondering what ebay`s next step would be & if I could string it out until PP release funds

they_screwed_me_too 04-09-2012 01:28 PM

i would have thought they would have taken it from pp anyway

rsot 04-09-2012 01:32 PM

No eb can't tsmt - when your pp is limited/closed - they cant take the fees.

Your move would be to pay the fees with a one time cc payment...

dave321 04-09-2012 01:34 PM

content of ebay email below

We are writing to alert you that your balance is not paid, because PayPal declined eBay's attempt to deduct your payment from your PayPal account.

According to the decline information from PayPal, this particular merchant agreement (your authorisation for paying your eBay seller fees using PayPal) is no longer valid. Your PayPal information has been removed as automatic payment method on eBay.

i stand corrected

dave321 04-09-2012 02:33 PM

If I were to pay the fees now, that would make it over a grand I will be short for 180 days, money I can not afford as wife having baby in couple of weeks.:D

dave321 04-09-2012 02:49 PM

Could ebay try to get the funds direct from bank account.

GrannyT 04-09-2012 02:51 PM

No - only Paypal can do that - unless you have linked your bank account to Ebay - suggest you instruct your bank to cancel the DD agreement.

OP, Is there enough money in that suspended pp account to cover eb fees? Is your eb account restricted too?

more than enough in my paypal to cover fees, ebay account 100% ok, can not operate ebay without paypal in UK.

markflood 04-10-2012 04:10 AM

Ebay is cruel, limited paypal account to honest sellers and then ask for fees. People want to pay but how since they froze people funds!

Taicelt 04-10-2012 06:55 AM

I'm in exactly the same position myself--except mine wasn't stealth. My 10yr old ebay account with 700 fb is just sitting useless now.At this time I am reading everything I can on the forum to try and sort myself out(Even though it can be a headache lol) I got my ebay bill a few days ago--and had made up my mind to make them wait--because im so p**sed off with them.I had only been selling properly for less than a year before paypal shafted me.Like I said I am sifting through all the info on this site(which is brill by the way)I will be interested to see how you go.

rsot 04-10-2012 07:49 AM

You can do a one time payment with cc to eb.

baloch 04-10-2012 08:12 AM

rsot I believe Dave knows this but he does not want to risk paying a 'G' then losing the 'G' in paypal.

if you do not pay then it will go to collections. If you have your real address or credit card or bank then that is not a good way to go.

rsot 04-10-2012 10:37 AM

You're right baloch - whether or not dave123 knew this, was just putting it out for an option. Going to Collections will suck.

GrannyT 04-10-2012 11:00 AM

Collections in the UK is no big deal - they have to jump through hoops before they get anywhere. The debtor is very much in control over here

GrannyT 04-10-2012 01:56 PM

If most people only knew the truth nobody would pay any one. I know a man in our village who owes a credit card debt of £8,200. He is on his 4th debt collector for the same debt. He just refuses to acknowledge the debt or that he is that person and so the debt just gets sold on again. I bet if he offered 10% in full and final they would take it.

The UK is a lot different to the US and Canada where debt is concerned

Been there seen it done it

dave321 04-10-2012 02:10 PM

What if paypal discover it is a stealth address, I worry if they will hold all funds in account indefinitely!

The US is pretty much the same, the debtor has a lot of power but make sure it's the right kind of debt. If the debt is either mortgage related or county taxes then get ready to lose your house. If it's credit card debt, the only thing you have to worry is your credit score. I'm sure the UK is the same thing about credit card.

Only thing to do is rake up tens of thousand in CC debt, wait 7 years and the debt is erased from your credit history. If debt collectors call you, you ask the same thing. Plz prove that the debt is yours or simply say that the person does not live here or nobody by that name lives here. My favorite thing to do when I was 18 is, "Sorry, my roommate moved out, this is the house phone". Under law they can't call you back or they can be sued.

Taicelt 04-10-2012 06:34 PM

This is why eBay can swivel for my fees. Also I'm moving soon as well lol.

Over here we call it secured debt and unsecured debt - unsecured debt is a ticking time bomb - more and more people are refusing to pay and to be honest with the way the governments are running the economy into the ground in Europe while at the same time feathering their own nests I cannot bring myself to say they are wrong to do so.

wrong attitude I have used ebays services which I intend to pay them for, my issue is why should I fork out more money now while Paypal hold my funds for 180 days.
If I have to wait then so will ebay!

Got me wrong--I have exactly the same attitude as you.Why should I go out of my way to pay them--while their sister company is quite happy to hold my money for 180 days(and then some as ive read on here)They can swivel!!!
