Default Nes PP buisiness UK account lifting limit step?

Just in the process of lifting £1900 on a new PP business UK account. Docs uploaded but now there is another step to complete:

Provide company information
Supply additional company information: Provide your business registration number

Then it says:

Please send us additional information

We weren't able to confirm your Company number online.

Please send PayPal copies of the following items to help confirm your Company number to comply with EU regulations:

•Company documents such as: your proof of incorporation documentations from the relevant authority or a recent Bank statement

We take your privacy seriously. Any personal identifying information you submit to PayPal remains private, secure and is only shared with a third party when required by law.

Has anyone come accross this before? Not really sure what to do.. any suggestions?

I registered as a basic business account, can't remember the exact option but it was something like - sole private business.

They would not ask you for company registration info if you said you were sole trader, they would only ask for it if you registered as a ltd company.

Not sure if you can 'downgrade' a p/p account

You can downgrade a P/P account by calling them or by emailing paypal using the contact us button on the P/P account page.

agree with noneother, unless this is new requirement, not come across this question ...

I tried once to downgrade and they refused, but that was established acc. You could try though if it is brand new, say you made a mistake on acc type..

It is probably best to just explain you are not a limited company

Any banking or financial institution giving facilities to UK Limited Companies requires the original certificate of incorporation or a certified copy.

Yes indeed but OP says he registered as a sole trader and they are asking him for company reg info.

Obviously he has made a mistake as this info does not apply to sole traders
