Default eBay Selling Limits 10/$500 vs. 10/$1000

I recently set up some eBay accounts within the last 30 days. I noticed that some of them have a $500 selling limit automatically when they are set up. Others have the $1000 selling limit. I can't pinpoint any reason or anything different that I'm doing in setting these up. Could someone please shed some light on this peculiarity?? I am a bit baffled!

PS I had purchased accounts from a seller on this forum previously and they were always the $1000 limit. What are the factors that determine this??

Accounts you make from now will have the 10/500 limit. It's unpredictable ebay after all....they just arbitrarily decided to lower them.

More and more accounts are getting $500, theres no real system to it, comes down to luck really.

Not peculiar at all - pretty standard for eb these days - MORE/HIGHER limits is considered peculiar/lucky =)

All the best.

Made one tonight no limits and did not even verify anything. Listed 9 items over an hour or so watching, bidding etc while listing and acting like a newbie.

It is pure luck I am assuming.

It might hit me after the 10th item but I guess I will see tomorrow when I get back on that one.

I have changed it up on purpose to see if things change and cannot figure it out to save my butt.

Just luck.

Getting them with verification, no verification just does not add up but I will take them.

I do get the lousy 5 and 10s also.

Selling limits cannot be broken after they are reached.

However, they can be broken before they are reached, aka my auctions always end higher than my selling limit. I generally don't have transaction or feedback issues, so eBay tends to increase my selling limits immediately.

Guess I will have to make 2 for 1 for now on.

I have been lucky enough not to get every single 10/500 but if they want to play that game I will just have to make it 2 for 1 accounts from now on.

What do you mean by 2 for 1? as in 2 e/b accounts 1 p/p? ain't that bad since the limits will be split on each account.

I got around that by having two eBay accounts with different information on them, going to the one PayPal account... although I am sure that this is not good pratice long term.

nope.

I only do 1 eb with 1 pp.

Meaning when I used to make 1 account because of no limits or larger limits now I am making 2 accounts for every 1 in the past because of the lowly limits on some accounts.

Just an Example:
2010 I made 40 acccounts
2012 I am going to make 80 accounts
