Default How much money tied up in inventory?

Im just curious how much money you stealthers selling a lot have in inventory each month or quarterly. Im getting a business loan, so i guess I'm just curious about this subject.

£3000 at a time maximum for me, which is 2000 items. That lasts me 40 days (50 sold per day). I turn that £3000 into £20,000.

Dear OP, you do have to know that each person is different and can not reply on other people to see how much money you need to borrow.

It depends on the things you sell and things like storage room. Some people like to buy a lot at once so they cant get a lower price on items but other people don't want to caught up with so much inventory if something happens. It all depends on how comfortable you are in your business future.

I used to hate having inventory because for me I wanted to buy it today and sell it tomorrow.

Inventory is based solely on the person and how much you can "afford" to have in stock.

Now I see so much to buy and have access to that I cannot let a good buy pass me by. A couple years ago I passed on more things because I did not want to take a chance. Today, I will buy up everything in site that is a good buy.

Some people can manage inventory and some cannot.

I know of people who have buildings full of inventory and they have a lot of non selling products.

Before you start having large sums of inventory you need to make sure have tested the product, know the product or have many different outlets to sell on.

This is a Question that CANNOT be anwsered Properly,,,

If you sell 55" 3d LED TV's, if you simply want to keep ONLY 10 is Stock you are going to Need $10,000

If you sell Iphone Screene Protectors you can stock 10,000 PCS for $1000,,,,

See my Point,,,,,,A simple formula would be something like:

Cost of the item you want to sell X the Number of those items you Expect to sell in a day X The Number of Days that it will take you to Recieve a new Shipment from the Manufacturer + The Number of Days that you feel comfortable with holding as a "Reserve" or "Cusion"

If you use that formula you can at least get a fairly useful "BallPark" Figure that applies to your Product

What the heck happened to my post? I have noticed that perfectly "innocent" posts of mine have been disappearing recently. At first I thought that I was imagining things; maybe I really did not post in the thread. But now I am certain that I made posts in Schrib's thread and the "How much do you sell?" one, advising a member of tax in the UK (simply telling him to pay it, and that it would likely be less than he expects. The sticky simply says "Earn money. Pay tax.", which I was encouraging him to do...). Both have disappeared off the face of the earth.

And I am not happy about this happening with no explanation whatsoever. At least have the decency to explain why you decided to delete my post, if you think that my post was truly bad enough to warrant deletion...

The moderators of this forum don't need to justify their actions to the members. They act on behalf of the owner.

If you dont like the rules then you know where the door is.

Throwing your toys like this will only end in further grief for you.

If you read the stickies regarding the rules for posting you'll find your answer in there. Tax advice is a no,no for starters.

I have around 10g. I always have this number. To get to this number has taken me many years.
If i was to sell them all at once, profit margin around 70,000. But i like to slow and be steady.

Your VERY first responsibility as a new user should have been to read the FAQs.

You have a pm now with them now to read.

Im about to place a order for about 5k In inventory that cost around 5-15$ a pc. I was going to use my own cash, but then got thinking why not use a business loan? Which then made me wonder what the good guys have a month In inventory. And if that is his profits, he should brag that is a good accomplishment. Bragging rights well deserved.
