Wisdom is a wonderful thing.

Good advice from wise heads should always be carefully considered.

To have the benefit of hindsight is not always a desirable option.

@Sandy_D - true on the time taking...nice work.

I replied to the pm that the OP sent. The point that I was making is you kind of want to show the system that your pp is NOT just being setup for eb...the more you get that across, the better it might last...

Alas! The bigger picture is not always clear to some.

Listen and learn, think beyond the obvious because it is the obvious that gets you hammered.

You can do Premier/Business straight out of the gates.

I never do a personal paypal for USA

Sign Up page gives the three different options of accout type.

On top of the business column there is 'Have an existing paypal ( or similar) press up grade

Are you saying make the paypal account, let it roast for a few months then add ebay and start using it? I sort of do that, but I make the ebay and paypal at the same time and let them age together.

p/p accounts can be used for a lot more than just buying or selling on e/b

Lots of online retailers accept p/p payments these days.

I usually sign up with eBay first, because once you are done with eBay registration, you can press the "Sign up for PAypal" button and all of your information will automatically be transferred over.

Again many approaches can work - experiment and report back.

wow this thread made me dizzy all the questions and answers :D as the wise greenbean has said..to be honest it's alot like cooking or parking..people have different ways styles etc..personally myself i do the ebay first then the paypal..because i think looking at it from paypal/ebay's point of view..they might think it suspicious you already have a 'premade' prepared paypal..so by doing it then it looks like ohh..ebay..oh paypal..okay yeah ill sign up for that..you know make them think your dumb and just abiding by their rules

Default Tested!

I just tested it out and yes it's a personal account when creating it with ebay first then you have to upgrade to business or premier that's why I stopped doing it that way even if it's a easier way. Pics attached I just erased some info using paint since everybody will be looking at it.

FYI right after I created the John Doe PayPal it was instantly limited asking for ID and SSN LOL!!!!
