I always chat with my mail person and build as much rapport as possible. I also give a nice gift card at christmas.

Everyone who says to butter up your mail man.. yes, 100% agreed. Mine has consumed several hundred gallons worth of my soda.. but it's a very small price to pay. He even asks if he wants me to have him come back later (when I have more packages ready). He's an all around good guy. My UPS driver on the other hand is about 2 more bitchings away from bringing out my murderous side.

And everyone pretty much has it right.. come up with any answer, as long as it's not "I sell on Amazon/Ebay." My God, you say stuff like that and you're begging to be in an hour long conversation.. did I say conversation? I meant free consultation. This is amplified tenfold if they see how well off you are. I always just say 'online sales'. The less interesting it sounds, the better. As if people are actually interested in whatever it is you do.. They're out for themselves and want you to write a handbook on how to be successful. It's like people at the gym that used to ask what my diet plan was. I would tell them about all the ice cream and donuts I eat. Same idea applies.

I drive my stuff to post offices (plural) when shipping. Receiving I have many venues NOT including my home. Your mailman can rat you out or not but there is that post office manager that watches what comes into his building...they can open up boxes WITHOUT warrants and do!

Very good point about tipping your postman well. Also, as Hercules said, you dont want to mix homestead and business...a lot of business NEEDS a spot outside the home.

Lol... "only 60" you say. That is more than most people will ever make over their lifetime. I changed my strategy entirely so literally rape 2 accounts every day and never touch them again after that. I don't give a sh!t about feedback as they are dead to me after 3 hours (the time that it takes me to list the 100 on each account) anyway. Yes, it sucks to have to list 200 items a day manually, now that you can't use Inkfrog/Auctiva on new accounts. But that's business I suppose.
While writing that, I coined the term "eBay rapist" for my job description.
