Might be just me but i thought stealth and yahoo was a BIG no no.

GTB 07-07-2012 01:45 AM

gmail is recommended

sax4 07-07-2012 06:51 AM

Hmm must have missed that in Stealth. Every scammer in the world seems to use Yahoo. Although they use Yahoo.com, maybe yahoo.co.uk, or rocketmail etc will raise less eyebrows

GreenBean 07-07-2012 07:16 AM

Gmail is OK at the moment.

When did you last try? :juggle:

sax4 07-07-2012 07:25 AM

Yeah gmail is fine, have always used, just entering that phone number is a pain. Feel like im giving Google too many details these day, web searches, email, youtube.

NoneOther 07-07-2012 07:27 AM

Google are the Devil, they want your soul as well as your personal info.

Artann 07-11-2012 05:15 PM

Does anyone know if there is a way to avoid entering a phone # for a google account?

NoneOther 07-12-2012 03:01 AM

Don't really see why there is an issue giving them a phone number.

Assuming this is for a stealth account then give them the same info you use on e/b including the phone number, which I also would assume to be a number only being used for stealth. No big deal imo.

GTB 07-12-2012 03:34 AM

i think it is random but yeah this should not be an issue

I've noticed this tends to be more of a USA issue than for other countries.

What happens? Tell me more please :juggle:

GTB 07-12-2012 03:50 AM

i had this many a time in UK GB

Elijah 07-12-2012 04:25 AM

It only happened to me after opening three accounts a row, and another time when I entered a pretty ⊗⊗⊗⊗ looking phone number. lol

I also get the phone number request now & again out of the blue after I sign in to gmail. This is what I got this morning from google for a gmail account that has an alias name tag:

Hello,

After reviewing your profile, it appears that the name you entered does not comply with the Google+ Names Policy. Please log in to Google+ and visit your profile to learn more and take action.

The Names Policy requires that you use the name you are commonly referred to by in real life in your profile. Nicknames, previous names and so on should be entered in the Other Names section of the profile. Profiles are limited to individuals; use Google+ Pages for businesses and other entities.

If you do not edit your name to comply with our Names policy or appeal with additional information within four days of receiving this message, your profile will be suspended. While suspended, you will not be able to make full use of Google services that require an active profile, such as Google+, Buzz, Reader and Picasa. This will not prevent you from using other Google services, such as Gmail.

Just get a burner aka pre paid, and use that. If you simply create a new user account on your computer with fresh flash/reg cookies you can make gmail accounts and not have to use your phone.

When asked to add or confirm a phone for new/old accounts I just do not fill in anything and click save, brings me directly to my email without having to add it.

plimsole 07-13-2012 06:31 AM

If gmail want a telephone number and they don't call it , and you don't want them to call you anyway, why not give them a number that wont reach you ?

GTB 07-13-2012 06:43 AM

ok goin off track here

we were talking about needing to add a number on sign up!

even if you have added a number to gmail you will still get pop ups asking you to save the phone number incase you lose your account etc

i think clicking save instead of skip will stop this happening

HurricaneHuntr 07-14-2012 12:07 PM

trying some yahoos and rocketmail. ebay might be onto how fast you can make gmail accounts with android phones.. so im taking a shot
