Default creating user accounts - an end to clearing cookies?

If I were to create a user account for every account I want to login to, would this mean there would be no reason to clear cookies?

Just wanted to get a definite answer on this one.

That's correct I have 48 user accounts on my Windows machine right now. I also change their icons. For my eBay accounts, I select the eBay logo so I can easily spot them. But 47 of the 48 are for eBay anyways :D

Its great that you dont have to worry about cookies anymore. How about IP addy with different users on XP.

You still have to be careful about the IPs.

So that I can make sure I still have the cookie I don't want to phone verify 40+ accounts every time I list something.

Because I manage each eBay account with a different Windows user account. It keeps the cookies separate.

That happens in July I think Alex.

So, both normal cookies and flash cookies are stored in different locations on differet user accounts?

All I need now is several more routers to overcome changing IP address, and I'm sorteeed

HI Guys:
Just an FYI...

I have used Public LIbraries for the last 8 months, just last month-tried the windows user accts--for 7 accts---out of the 7, 5 went down, all on the 26th... WHY?

I dont know, but those 5 accts were up prev., they gave the reason for all 5 as linked to a prev susp, acct, which was also on the same pc, but a diff user id...
>.It wasnt cookies sharing... it wasnt pics, 3 out of the 5 were not even selling, they were dormant---ONLY common denom was:
a.) windows users on same pc
b.) they all had auctiva accts

So--who knows? Anyhow--for me personally--Im not going to put all my eggs in 1 basket..

Default Aren't there two types of cookies?

I am confused {yes ya'll know I am blonde but make a comment & take the consequences}.

I thought there are the cookies that identify you that we clear to clean up the
trail by using ccleaner AND these new FLASH cookies that may possibly/probably be embedded by ebay as a way of saying 'yes this has communicated with ebay before & is recognized' OR 'oops, we do not recognize this & will take action.'

YES/NO/WTHeck

eBay has said they will use both regular cookies AND flash cookies to identify you. They will look if a flash cookie is placed first. If it is, you won't need to phone verify. If there is no flash cookie, but a regular cookie, they won't ask for phone verification either. But if there is no cookie, you will need to verify your phone number.

So just make separate Windows user accounts for each of your eBay accounts and it will keep your regular cookies AND your flash cookies separate. No need to delete anything. And remember to install Objection on every account to ensure that your flash cookies are indeed there for every account before July so that you'll never have to worry about phone verification.

On top, remember to backup your computer regularly, because if it crashes one day and you need to format it, all your flash cookies will be gone. For me, I would hate to phone verify each of my currently 40+ accounts :D

hi imjustme,do you install new firefox on each windows user accounts or you just use the same firefox for all those user accounts?I know the flash objects would be planted in different folders but how about the regular cookies ?Where does firefox save regular cookies?

i just use firefox for ebay and when i use firefox to watch video on youtube,it requires me to install flash player and i guess thats why i havent got those flash objects from ebay yet.

I just don't understand why you would need this program objection? I'm going to look it up now, but if you have a different user account why would you need that? Or firefox for that matter.

I'm starting to think it is just a Random, (Every 1 out of 5 accts)-that have started to sell recently in the last 60 days thing?
As I have several 2 yr old accts as well as an 11 yr old acct on same pc--still up??

I use the same Firefox installation as on my main administrator account (the one I used for all my regular stuff). But then I install Objection on my eBay user accounts. Why? Because I want to know which account has the Flash cookies. Up to you if you want to do this or not, but I rather have them and not have to worry about phone verification in July.

Can't you just use this link on each User Account to see if the flash cookie is still on the computer for that account? http://www.macromedia.com/support/do...manager07.html

So you are saying that accounts that have been sitting for a long time and just recently starting selling eBay is just suspending them randomly? Or did I miss what you were saying?
