UK paypal accounts

Can a UK paypal account add a USA bank account? I'm not asking because I sell vba's... I'm asking because I want to know if a UK account can withdraw funds to a USA account even with losing a little bit in the currency exchange.

Lheonard 07-31-2012 03:26 AM

^ I don't think it's doable, I tried to add a EU bank account on a US selling marketplace and it didn't worked. But maybe you are asking because UK and USA bank accounts share similarities.

Elijah 07-31-2012 04:19 AM

You can have a US bank account on every country PayPal as far as I know. You should be able to add a US bank account to any PayPal account regardless of country; it's just adding a foreign non-US bank account to a PayPal account (e.g., European PayPal and Asian bank account) that is not possible.

The UK PayPal, US bank account combiniation is definitely possible.

First Edition 07-31-2012 11:51 AM

Lets say the UK paypal is in GBP, and you add a US bank... the money shows up in USA dollars? I'm assuming there is a hit from the currency exchange.

Ebayorbust 07-31-2012 12:01 PM

Guys, I am fairly sure that you can only add UK bank accounts to UK paypals.

If it was allowed the US sellers would be inundated with requests for VBAs.

I would really like to be incorrect on this but I don't think I am - sorry. :(

Stigger 07-31-2012 12:04 PM

it would be easy to find out 100% if someone could provide a fee USA VBA

First Edition 07-31-2012 12:06 PM

done. One free vba to a trusted UK fellow. Who wants to give it a shot? (mine are instant verify only....)

Stigger 07-31-2012 12:11 PM

Not sure about the whole trusted u.k fellow bit but I'm in a position to test this now

Shoot me a pm if you want.

This is correct but does not contradict what I wrote? I said that the only banks that should work for every country are US bank accounts.

Edit: The VBA has been tried on UK accounts before, so do not waste your time. It did not work ufortunately. Only for US/Canada.

First Edition 07-31-2012 12:31 PM

Instant vba doesn't work, but micro deposits do you mean?

I wasn't trying to contradict anything you've said. If I was I would have quoted something you had posted.

You do like to make your point, don't you. Geez.

Stigger 07-31-2012 12:54 PM

well they can be added as a second account on a pp business 100%
and from what i understand personal too.

First Edition 07-31-2012 12:57 PM

Interesting.... will it work if there is no bank account at all?

Guys, just the facts.... leave the egos at home. It's a forum. It's about disagreement and productivity. I think we've learned a lot so far ;)

im not sure, need to create a fresh PP for that, i just know it CAN be added as a second account, there is a drop down option, u.k or usa.

Select USA and it give you other box for routing number.

Just add everything , job done.

First Edition 07-31-2012 01:08 PM

Apparently I've reached my limit for pm's. I can respond, but I can't write a new one :)

I'd like to know if it can be added where there is no bank account present, and if so does it become verified... I'll send you another one if you'd like to try.

Is a "current" account in the UK the same as a "checking" account in the USA?

It looks like I read your post wrong and you did indeed contradict me... as you say that UK PayPals should work with only UK banks. Which is not true. The VBA will not work but regular banks will. And the "tone" of your "Guys, I'm fairly certain [...]" post suggested that you were telling us something other than that which was said already... i.e., contrary to what had been posted previously.

And you surely seem to enjoy aggravating people. Geez.

Edit: Yes, current accounts and checking accounts are evquivalent in their respective countries.

First Edition 07-31-2012 01:17 PM

TizWoz just confirmed the VBA does work. I use real bank accounts... they're just not open for long. Paypal can't foresee that. Do you mean instant verification doesn't work?

Please stop responding to the bickering.... it's not helping anything.

Do you know if they can be added to new accounts or not.

Do you know if you can accept the two micros ?

If you send me another one over i will get on it tomorrow with a new PP.

Whats the shelf life of these vba ?

First Edition 07-31-2012 01:52 PM

Cannot use micro deposits... sorry. The shelf life is what I dictate, usually 24 hours. I would be hard pressed to risk the account being open for longer.
