1k+ feedback Seller Backing out

I have a buyer who has over 1000+ feedback and is a top rated seller also, as am i. They claim the item they found out isn't what it's supposed to be, and want to cancel this instead of pay. Now, i am cool with that, i can relist no money limit hurt etc.. all good. Question is, do i send a cancellation request? What if they decide haha now i can leave a neg?

Or do i just let it play out and let my unpaid item case auto opener do it's thing? Should i communicate with them my concerns? Should i communicate at all? i didn't respond

For me I would try professional courtesy & agree to the cancellation but voice your concerns.....

avoid escalation at this point.

If he leave you a neg you can buy from him and do the same.

you can do that if you want all eyes on your account from the buyer coming back at you again, not the preferred method
