How To: Easily manage multiple stealths on 1 PC
 

Hi guys,

I wondered whats the best way to go about making 20+ stealth accounts on 1 PC without using up all the computers memory/harddisk space.

Ive got a small sized HDD on my Desktop which is solely used for stealth accounts. It has maybe 15 stealths on it, all with their own separate Windows usernames, but the memory on the PC is being eaten away.

So my problem is that if i want to make more stealths, which I'm planning to do now, then the PC will become saturated and i could risk frying the machine.
I don't really want to have to spend money on another PC, but will if i have to so is there another way to make stealths without using up all the PC's memory?

Also I wondered if i made a stealth on 1 windows user ID, then saved all the info on a .txt file, then remove the windows ID, and do this each time for about 30+ accounts. I could then create a new windows user ID for the stealth when i wanted to use it to sell i.e. making sleeper accounts.

Whats your thoughts/suggestions?...

When you switch accounts are you selecting switch user or log off? The switch user option will eat up a lot of resources

When I switch on my PC there about 15 user ID's i think this is whats eating up the memory on the hard drive? So I'm limited to how many User IDs i can have on the machine.

When I switch users i click LOG OFF. I only ever use about 3 accounts at any one time.

i don't think that would be your problem. how much memory do you have on your system? also how much free space do you have on your hard drive? if the free space is low that will definitely slow the machine down

its running smoothly at the moment, no issues with speed. Its the capacity I'm talking about. If i create more stealths I will eat up all the Harddisk space.

That is your problem right there. You have literally NO free space on your computer and your computer needs free space to run properly with such things as virtual memory. I would try to have at least 1GB of free space on that drive. you can move files to an external drive, or if it is a desktop you can get another hard drive to put in and store some files but you definitely need to clear up some space on that drive for the computer to run better.

I think ill need a new machine then.
The only files i have on here are pictures for ebay listings.
I don't use it for anything else other than ebay.

Its an old dell desktop i bought from office clear out so it doesn't have an expansion for another hard drive. I thought if i took it to a computer repair shop they could transfer all the files and user ID's from this hard drive onto another larger hard drive..can that be done?

if you are just using it for ebay, don't waste your money on a new computer. are all of your pictures in one folder? if so right click that folder and click properties and see how much space this is taking up. you can always keep these on an external drive. 40gb is considered small these days but i still don't think the users are your problem. you have other files taking up space (like pictures). using the external would save you a lot of trouble and a lot of $ that they will charge you to do all this work

Yep all pics are in one folder.
Each windows user ID has its own folder for pics.

I'll backup all the pics onto my external HDD tonight and see if that works

You can do what I do... use multiple web browsers on each profile to reduce the number of user profiles needed. For example, have one on Firefox, one on Internet Explorer and one on Google Chrome.

Elijah are you saying on 1 windows user Id you run 3 different ebay ID's and use 1 internet browser for each ebay ID?

what about cookies/flash cookies or isn't that an issue?

I've got 15 user ids on a netbook. I only have the absolute basics installed on it and I'm using 28GB of memory.

I've got a 160Gb hard drive so it isnt really an issue but I was amazed how much memory is taken up by a windows ID.

Thats approximately 2GB per windows user ID in your case...!!!

Yes, precisely. The cookies/flash objects are specific to each web browser so it is not a problem.

Wouldn't it be more efficient to purchase a new PC or install a new HD?

Do what Elijah mentioned... I've seen steps on how to do this somewhere and it seems to work out & be convenient for a lot of people

I think Elijah's info is very useful but I will still choose to have a different user for each account. it's already very easy to slip up and i would rather take the safe route.

Ebayorbust- you must have some files (pictures, videos, etc...) that you have on this computer. 15 accounts should take about 4gb of space

Does sound a little bit risky doesn't it? Still...have to thank him for a useful suggestion. It can work and its only down to us it it goes balls up.

cortex - i still think you should clear out those pics and see how much space this frees up, this could solve your problem pretty easy

also try turning off system restore, this can take up some descent space and it has never been useful to me. go to start, right click my computer and click properties. click advanced system settings. under system protection you will find system restore, turn it off

I don't think the number of user accounts slows down your computer. It's what you have on it. My laptop went from like 2 user accounts to 30 and i have not seen any speed difference. I use it ONLY for stealth and nothing else.

Thats what ive been saying all along. I got no issues with speed. Its the hard disk storage thats being eaten away.
