Default Getting suspended for too many refunds?

From what I've read on here, it seems like it's possible to get suspended if there's too many refunds given on your account? What about canceled transactions?

Well, I'm wondering - what if instead of officially clicking the refund button, you just manually send them back the amount? I doubt that would be detected as a refund under eBay & PayPal, or would it?

Now - I HIGHLY doubt the buyer would even TRY to say they never got the refund if you did it through that way. (I know some people on here would suspect this) You would have proof of the transaction if it ever came down to that anyway. (Rare situation, but still.)

Thoughts?

So, when they open a case you lose twice the amount of the original item. Awesome.

This has been discussed and is obvious failure.

I never said anything about opening a case, did I? If you let it get to that point, then that should be a failure on your part.

I'm talking about the buyer simply wanting to return an item because you accept returns and they didn't like it or something.

If they open a case AFTER you send them the money back, then that would be a little different..but from a buyer's perspective, I highly doubt they would try. Like I said, if it came down to that, you'd have proof that you sent back the exact amount. If you'd suspect that of happening then you might as well suspect that every buyer is going to open an unauthorized payment claim when they buy from you...

I've been doing it for years now without a problem. Just find their Pp email and send as "payment owed" the exact amount a refund would give them and that's it. Never had them open a case against me or ask for a refund twice.

Yes you can do that, but do not send them the same amount, paypal will get suspicious if 2 accounts sending the same amount to each other

I have been doing it for years also and it keeps my refund rate down to just about nothing and I am pretty sure low refund rate means more trust from paypal....
