Default eBay suspension 13 year old 22k feedback platinum indefinite restriction: help

Had a 13 year old eBay account. Been selling on site for many years. Emailed a few days ago suspended indefinitely. Did almost 700k in sales past year.

Called - reason suspended was I was below standard for 3 months - switched product lines had a bad two months.

My next evaluation is Dec 20th would have been above standard

Called support said nothing they can do but the dreaded appeal.

Crazy thing was I showed massive improvement - the last full month I was allowed selling sold most amount of items I had ever sold and only recieved a few bad marks on one rating so I did improve

Rep I talked to said they can appeal it - he's seen accounts reinstated 3/30 times.

They said that you have. To claim supplier issues. Was wondering if anyone here had a similar situation as this. I have been reading boards and couldn't find a direct Answer.

Thinking someone here has more knowledge than me

Thanks guys

If the rep tells you can appeal it, I would. Keep fighting back.

You can also open stealth accounts to minimize your risks or try out new product lines in the future.

thx

Zog
protect yourself and your income .
To sell on ebay legit is the same as running through a busy area with your wallet in your hand full of cash ..
You just know its going to get swiped ..
Maybe not today , maybe not tommorow but one day .
Regardless of how good you are , how old you account is or how much you generate the lovely ebay they still will pull your pants down .
two words for you .
eBay Stealth .
Then you can give some back ...

Default Appeal

Has anyone heard of appeals actually going through when you do appeal it?

And if appeal does not go through do you feel that in a year account could be usable again, or possibly when it pops up above standard Dec 20th.

Appreciate the insight again

Had something similar about 2 years back - I kept in touch with eb appeals via email and live chat. I was able to get back on in about 60-90 days if i recall correctly.

I kept pushing back with statistics - light messages - nothing offensive.

Default Appeal

If the appeal doesn't work do you think I have some clout in the fact that on the 20th of December ill be above standard again?

Do you think original notice was automated and its possible indefinite restriction may just come right off on 20th or by phoning in?

If not that do you think in a year the account may be able to sell again when all bad ratings drop off?

Zog
it wont hurt to appeal . what have you to lose as rsot has stated keep it friendly and factual .
You never know they may listen to you .
But from my experience your wasting your time , but thats just me.
My very first account that was taken from me was 7 years old , had 10k plus feedback and was generating EB £1000s every month in fees .
This was suspended as i had to many disputes / claims in there eyes over a 90 day period and i was in a similar situation it was a matter of days before evalution where it would have gone back to above standard.
They were not interested and the appeal failed .
But that was a few years ago now so maybe things have changed and they have suddenly developed a sellers customer service charter ..... oh no sorry wrong company .

No appeal was denied .
But as i say that was a few years back .
I moved onto another account .
Then adopted the stealth method and moved onto a few accounts so next time one goes down its not the end of the world for me.

Get some stealth accounts started now. You can worry about them and the appeal at the same time. Time is money

@Zog, same exact thing happened to me this month. 10 year old account indefinite suspension for selling (buying still OK) due to one DSR being .43% over the limit for 3 months. Now where exactly is the notice from ebay warning about this? Even funnier when I log into the acct now I get a banner from ebay saying my performance is below standard and I need to improve or they MAY lower the selling limit by 25% ... elementary math says 25% of 0 is still 0. Guess ebay VPs are not smarter than a 5th grader.

My gut tells me this is an automated deal - 3 months below standard = indefinite suspension. Doesnt matter that I only had 1 negative FB last 6 months. It was dings from 9-12 months ago before ebay required buyers to contact sellers. Back then disgruntled buyers would open bogus cases for the sheer joy of it. But thats ebay - enforcing new policies ex-post facto.

I called CS twice about getting reinstated - both times they said NO APPEAL is allowed. So if you or anyone else knows different please update the thread.

Also something tells me if the account goes back above standard for low dsr rolling off then it might automagically reinstate - dont know but its worth checking back on.

Either way Im going full-blown stealth now with a little help from my friends here. Doing all my homework first though so I hopefully get it right.
