Default DSR - Dispatch Time

I am finding more and more that the Disptach Time is causing me the most problems out of the DSRs aswell as emails from customers telling me their item should have arrived already.

I send all my items via first class STANDARD and i post them quickly. Their is not much more i can do here. What do you guys suggest?

On all of my auctions i have it set that i will post within 1 working day. I could possibly change this to 2 working days? Has anyone toyed with this? Did you sales suffer?

i have 3 working days despatch as standard and second class

i used to have 1 day and first class and it caused more problems

buyer have overly high expectations

they see 1 day despatch and first class recorded and they assume its going to be with them in 48 hours

lower their expectations from the outset

also any negs or low dsrs "can be removed" depending on the variables

ive dont this on my 3 newest accounts (1 month old)

50-70 and 20 feedbacks

all good with the new way

No, they will still think that the delivery time given is by you and not ebay. So they'll expect a guarantee.

2 business days before I got TRS on this account. Had to change to 1 business since. Quite a few messages of "when and why my order hasn't shipped ".

After the TRS is gone, think I'm gonna put 3 business days xD

Have always quoted 3 days handling time and 1st Class recorded delivery.

Post the same day and most items arrive within 48 hours.

Never had an issue with handling times being a stumbling block to gaining TRS

As TSMT says, lower their expectations and then dazzle them with quick delivery. Works every time.

I would think that having 3 days handling time listed must scare lots of customers away!?

Not for me. Like others I had a lot of trouble when I listed 1 day dispatch time, but few problems with 3 (apart from customers who somehow still assumed that it would be sent next day... read the bloody listing next time!) and sales are not any lower.

@ arshavin

Then you'd be wrong.

Over 85% of my accounts are TRS and the rest are developing nicely.

As has been said it's all about managing buyer expectations.

If you have the right product at the right price, get it to them safely quicker than they expected then they are delighted.

Short handling times are a rod for your own back. Why make life more difficult

This is super news for me. Like i said its this DSR that is causing me grief. I'm gonna change them to 3 days and hopefully my accounts will run much smoother.
