New stealth limited, but why?

I just received 1 payment £70 via ebay on a new stealth purcahsed here and got limited.

But my question is WHY?! :(

Firstly heres the facts...

New ipad
New IP
New bank account

No 21 day hold, 9 feedback already on the ebay account £1 transactions.

I tried to add a new RBS bank account and it failed. I then added another RBS account that went straight on no problems.

Listed 4 items on ebay, used car parts, sold 1 got payment and 10 mins later im limited.

But WHY? :( there cannot be any link to an old account here

GreenBean 12-19-2012 07:45 AM

What was the actual notice?

What did paypal say & what did they ask?

Did you full verify & confirm B4 selling?

New accounts can get this.

vxmotorsport 12-19-2012 07:48 AM

They want confirmation of:

bank account (but the bank is verified?) :/
Validate your account information
Provide proof of delivery
Provide invoices

Paypal email ID PP1589 not sure if that means anything?

oompaloompa 12-19-2012 07:51 AM

it may not be to do with linking, does the notice give any clues...new accs at this time of year can get it or it can happen in clusters with a security push on new accs particularly those that sell real quick after creation, the good news is the limitation can be overcome...

vxmotorsport 12-19-2012 07:52 AM

What sort of clues am I looking for mate?

Fingers crossed its not due to linking as I have done everything to make sure this account is not linked

oompaloompa 12-19-2012 07:53 AM

we need the notice code and if it mentions any reason....

TBF, that is the usual type of limit when an account is just starting out.

Security is tougher at the moment as well coupled with your category.

Sometimes used motor parts can be problematic.

oompaloompa 12-19-2012 07:56 AM

oops missed those vital details...easy to provide, it should work out ok

Im not sure there is a code but basically it says...

Dear *****

We need your help resolving an issue with your account. To give us time to work together on this, weve temporarily limited what you can do with your account until the issue is resolved.

We understand it may be frustrating not to have full access to your paypal account. We want to work with you to get your account back to normal as quickly as possible.

For reasons relating to the safe use of the paypal service we need some more information about some of your recent sales.

Reference number: PP-***-***-***-*** (not sure i should put that on an open forum?)

How you can help

Its usually quite straightforward to take care of these things. Most of the time, we just need some more information about your account or latest transactions.

To help us with this and to find out what you can and cant do with your account until the issue is resolved, log in to your account and go to the resolution center.

Yours sincerely,
PayPal

Mate it might not be because of that payment..
whats the actual message that comes up as soon as you log on to PayPal..

the best advice I can give you is to listen to the senior members..and don't make the mistake I made with my last PP of thinking..eh pp have 100s of accounts they won't notice mine.
.their system has been upped this December (this month) so you have to be even more vigilant than ever with your pp..looking so much as in PayPal's direction and giving them any attention to your account will get it limited..

Right thanks vx,yeah as greenbean and myself said..PP have upped their system bot now and I actually found out this when it slipped a UK PP member's mouth when I called them..as their system was 'running slow' because of the new update.

Like I said you've got fantastic members on here like Greenbean, Roscoe, None Other..they're all EXPERIENCED members who can give you fantastic advice..personally myself I've never known a limitation to be removed..so I would start a fresh..
using one IP address espicially off an iPad in my opinion isn't advised..why not get a tethering service instead?

It's alot more safer..and neccessarily your limitation probably isn't to do with a new account but more the funds you recieve..just PP look at it like this: new account - funds in - RISK RISK RISK..they've got no documentation on you so you could scam or run with the funds..

I understand what your saying bud, but then how will I ever sell? If I get limited on the first transaction will the same thing not just happen on the next account?

This is getting really frustrating, I am not a scammer I just genuinely want to sell my products online and every time getting stung by the *******s :(

Sorry, but I may have missed this. Was this PP account purchased or was in created by you?

Thanks.

vxmotorsport 12-19-2012 08:17 AM

It was purchased, this is my first transaction on the account

Is there a reason you can not create your own account?

I've never liked accounts that are created by someone else?

vxmotorsport 12-19-2012 08:20 AM

I have created my own accounts in the past and ended up linked so I went for an easier option and purchased for what I thought would be peace of mind

GTB 12-19-2012 08:29 AM

is this "PP-***-***-***-***" the motor part u sold?

bruceuk 12-19-2012 08:30 AM

As GB has stated used car parts are a nightmare .
My main accounts all deal in car parts .
But ive learned through my own mistakes never to list them on a new account .
I generally list used everyday items sourced from charity shops on new accounts to give the impression your just having a clear out in your home.
Then once settled down use it for my normal business .
This may or may not be your problem but from my experience it certainly was mine .
And if your dealing in used car parts invoices can sometimes be more complicated but all workable.
