Can Amazon find my personal info through my Sales tax ID?

I've heard I can give amazon my sales tax ID info and they can collect sales tax for me. The sales tax ID has my personal info registered to it. Can amazon find my personal info though my Sales tax ID? if so, how?

In some states it's very easy, just go to your Secretary of States Online records and look in the business/incorporations category.

Will Ebay or PP do that for most accounts? I highly doubt it.

Amazon can do the same thing, but in reality, unless they have reason to believe there is fraud I don't see them manually reviewing online state records.

Your EIN will only allow amazon to find out your business name with a little investigating. With a lot of investigating, in a handful of states they can find out who the owner of the business is. In most states the owners of LLCs and Corps are not public record.

Checked it out. It gets its information from people who have chosen to provide it to them or advertise it elsewhere on the net like Manta, Yelp, etc.

With the internet as it is today finding someone via Public Records is relatively easy.

You can Reverese Engineer most everything.

You would be amazed at how easy it is to dig up info on someone with a simple phone call.

I've called my own bank and gotten them to give me Detailed info (about my account) over the phone without giving them any real info.

I bitched to the customer service rep for not being more cautious.
