Default A very 'interesting' competitor...

I have seen nothing like this before however I may be wrong but don't think I am.

A competitor of mine (the very few out there) will list a new product at roughly the same time as me especially for new stock which in turn makes me think whether we have the same supplier.

Anyway, everytime we list the same item, someone will purchase MULTIPLE quantity of this sellers product to then bump it in the results page.

This is NOT just on one item its on all their items. Surely they are linking accounts in some way OR just using multiple stealths to do so OR have multiple friends that are doing it!

private listing -- buyers' identities protected £xx.xx 16 23-Jan-13 15:55:29 GMT

Anyone ever seen something similar?

Buying multiple quantities bumps it in the search results? Hmmmm never knew this.

Well you can always do the same. I don't find this being hard to do what so ever.

Well as far as I know, yes. Everytime we both list we are usually on par, then BOOM suddenly a huge purchase and they are selling 40 / 50 per day and show up at the top!

Think i'm missing the trick somewhere.

How much is the item? And are they single auctions or the ones that is one listing but you can sell as much as you want?

If you get a lot more traffic then maybe the Fees can justify the resulting profits?

I think this works even if the buyer hasn't paid, so they use it to get a jumpstart then claim the back the fees from the 'buyer'. Not 100% sure on that but I think so.

That's the correct way to market any business.
