@#$%!!!! Professional Buyer...FTL

Buyer wins auction, pays $1600. I send the item. He receives it fine - then late at night, about 1am or so while I am asleep he sends a vague message via ebay messages. Then 5am rolls around and he opens a SNAD case on ebay...all he writes in the message to ebay was that he emailed me and I emailed him back stating that "the transaction is completed". NO, he never emailed me and he only sent me one bullsh&^ message before opening the case. So I write out a long response to his case, state all the facts, bring up the fact that he has only 10 feedback and hasnt bought anything over $30. Blah blah.

He escalates it to ebay without responding. Ebay sends me an email stating they told him to send the item back to me and once it arrives, I can issue him a refund and the case won't count against me. YET now my TRS is in jeopardy for March because of opened case (hello, when does that opened case policy come into effect...APRIL)

Buyer sends me a package, I am sure to get video opening it because I already knew he was going to dick me. What do you know, I get two books in the box.

Paypal already has the funds held, OF COURSE. Only option on the ebay case is to "issue a refund". I sent a message back to this "Alex H." from ebay CS and told him I am not willingly issuing a refund when ONE, paypal already has the funds held...TWO, ebay told me the case wouldn't count against me YET IT HAS...and THREE, they didn't bother to even read a single thing I typed in the case, even warning them I knew the intentions of the buyer.

So buyer gets product, $1600 and my TRS is in peril. Horse****, I swear.

Gamefreak 02-25-2013 06:41 PM

Thats just how stuff goes sometimes. Your lucky your TRS otherwise I think this case would have been over once he escalates it.

boost 02-25-2013 06:57 PM

Doesn't matter - he returned junk and I'm left to foot the bill...and ebay forcing a refund. I'm sure I'll even see a neg out of it. My TRS will be gone March 20th unless that case gets knocked off by these supposed new buyer dispute policies. Not holding my breath

Time for an IC3 complaint to be filed!!!

Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) | File a Complaint

And tell ebay you doing this and they will put the case on hold while you complete this and then when you give them the info, you will see the case turn in your favour :amen:

zoneout 02-25-2013 07:06 PM

Couple of angles... Did he return it to you with signature tracking? If not just tell ebay you never got it. Items over $250 have to be signed for.

If you signed for it then...

Go right to your police station and file a police report for stolen property. Bring all the info you possibly can as they will need to put it into the report. Next, file a mail fraud case with the postal inspector. You can get the links on usps.com.
You have to work quick because once paypal releases the funds to him, ballgame is over. Once you have the police report call ebay, get T&S (dont let Peggy BS you - tell them you have a police case and get a real T&S person.

Tell them the story, you have a good chance of getting your money back if your ducks are in a row.

Bunneh 02-25-2013 07:08 PM

Hopefully you posted the item to a physical address and not a P.O Box so that they can actually catch that BS buyer!!

boost 02-25-2013 07:19 PM

He returned with a medium flat rate priority box. Inside that box was a padded mailer with 2 books in it. He sent it from a PO BOX "insured"...the shipping cost ended up being something like $35. I signed for it obviously because I had to.

I initially sent the item to a physical address - he sent me the package with a PO BOX address as his return address. So maybe something fishy is up with that, I don't know. Package was signed for at the physical address I sent it to.

corleone 02-25-2013 07:32 PM

Tough call.

One thing I would do for sure is post his address in ripoff report or something. . .I've never had this happen, but is there a website to report scammer info?

Have you tried googling their address? This sounds like someone who has done this many times.

boost 02-25-2013 07:43 PM

The address is some bs sounding address...it got delivered, it shows he signed for it but in the address section of where he signed, it says "536"....no address, nothing. Just "536". Doesn't even put his name on the signature page, just a half-assed signature.

Postal fraud is postal fraud.

Defend yourself.

Re: @#$%!!!! Professional Buyer...FTL

536 seems like they are signing as received at a pobox. Maybe they are using a forwarding service

boost 02-25-2013 07:58 PM

Just looked at the package they sent me, it is PO BOX 536 that is listed as his return address. I sent to a physical address...looking at Bing Maps (which has a better view that Google Maps) it looks like the address is out in the middle of nowhere at an area that isn't fully developed...

They are using address forwarding

I would call ebay and give them all of this info that you have found . If you get a human they will see the address is bs

boost 02-25-2013 08:09 PM

Trust and Safety?

boost 02-25-2013 08:30 PM

Seems the "case manager" isnt available at the moment so I will be receiving a call back from him today or tomorrow. We will see how that goes....not holding my breath on a call.

Roscoe 02-25-2013 08:35 PM

$1,600.00??? Ouch!

So why isn't everyone a Professional Buyer if Ebay makes it seem so easy?

I keep hearing about these Ebay horror stories more and more. I am clueless as to how Ebay works but isn't there a way to protect yourself?

Hope you nail this ******* :smash:

GreenBean 02-25-2013 08:40 PM

@Roscoe,

sure there is.

It's just like your paypal ( lack of protection)

A certain type of c**p shot.

This entire ebay game is dependent on which player has the best cojones
:fight:

Roscoe 02-25-2013 08:42 PM

That's what I thought!

Do you think there are "Professional Buyers" on THIS forum?

GreenBean 02-25-2013 08:46 PM

Nope.

We smoke em out.

Just the idiots get left.

Most of them are sellers

:pound:

boost 02-25-2013 08:47 PM

Sure, it's called "seller protection", but nobody knows how the hell it works....oh wait, that's because it DOESN'T work.
