It seems new ebay accounts need calling verification

Ebay asks me to call back every time for each new selling account.

boost 02-28-2013 11:48 PM

This is nothing new....

LoopHole 02-28-2013 11:49 PM

Its always been like this.

incniu 02-28-2013 11:57 PM

Before, I never need to call to verify after accounts created..

Anyone runs into any problem when calling to verify?

Where have you been?! This has been going on since December at least.

corleone 03-01-2013 01:19 AM

I make about 4 accounts per week and list 1 or 2 items on each new account, and I get it on maybe 1 account on average. There was a time a few weeks ago where I was getting it over 50% of the time. It has loosened up the last couple weeks for me.

Once again thanks Corleone

How do you verify an account when you're required to call in if it's under anon info? I'm stuck on this step :(

--
I should add some extra info to this to clarify the problem I'm having.
When I setup an anon account it is always limited (granted I've only setup 3 of them). I have a clean IP, cookies, etc etc. I've setup anon accounts for years with no problems until now. Anyway, when they limit the account they require I call in. When I call in they state that they are going to ask questions that only the person who registered the account would know. It seems impossible to be able to answer these questions since the account is registered under anon info.

Is this the same kind of limitation you guys are talking about getting around or is the limitation I'm receiving more severe?

MM78 03-02-2013 09:34 PM

Your limitation requires you to call in, and if you call them and can't answer those questions correctly...then there is no point in calling, wouldn't you agree?

Unless you are really, really good at answering questions you have no answers too.

jmg0055 03-02-2013 09:38 PM

Yup, It's pointless to even try. I just noticed above that someone mentioned the call-in process is relatively simple to get around and I was confused. MM78 when you setup a new anon account do you not receive this type of limitation? If not I'm surely doing something wrong during the process. I suspect it may have something to do with the VCC I'm using.

MM78 03-02-2013 09:52 PM

I never do jm0055, but I really make sure that all my accounts are aged, and have some good feedback before selling anything high risk. I have several accounts that are well over 1yr old and still going solid.

jmg0055 03-02-2013 09:59 PM

I see I see. Excellent info. I very much appreciate it.

MM78 03-02-2013 10:02 PM

Anytime. Were here to help.

It could be more than one factor.

Could you go over what you do?

Outline all your steps, please.

Please also include how soon you list & if your paypal is verified & confirmed

I ALWAYS wait 30 days before listing and I never get the MC099 anymore

GreenBean 03-02-2013 10:40 PM

@Packattack12

The old ways are best imo.

Waiting to list was the method when I first joined. I apply that without fail to all of the different accounts in several countries.
Never ever had issues.

To be bluntly honest with you I was rushing/doing it the cheap way and not registering a VCC on PP and eBay. I would however let the account age for 40+ days. I had always had success this way up until about 2 months ago. I just signed up for a 24/7 card though and I'm going to try that out. If that doesn't work I'm going to purchase a VCC from a user on this forum.

rsot 03-03-2013 09:54 AM

I am also a fan of verifying pp WELL in advance to operating on eB...think it helps a lot

moneyhustler88 03-03-2013 10:42 AM

yeah i agree with rsot..and panic attack..fantastic advice here guys. I've had a lot of MC099s..but those two methods helped me a lot..also the key thing I can say is..research BEFORE creating an account

Sandy D 03-04-2013 04:05 AM

I think most people get in a hurry and it hurts them.

Also, when people have lots of stock and lose an account with some good limits on it they get scared and want to get selling again and rush things up and make mistakes.

Another good reason to have as may backups as you can get.

Spread your sales so you can have some aging while working on current ones.
