Default TIP/TRICK to keep away international buyers

I used to have a real problem with international buyers buying my items, even though I stated very clearly in my listings that I only ship within the U.S.

Plus my eBay was set-up for only U.S. buyers, but they still were able to purchase if they had a eBay.com account from another country.

The easy way to thwart international sales isn't through eBay, but through PayPal if you set it to only accept payments from users with U.S. Bank accounts.

This only works if you have your listings set up with Buy-it-now, requiring immediate payment.

How to:

Log into your Paypal account and click "Profile"

Then click "My selling tools" and go down to Block payments and click "Update"

Check mark the box next to "Have non-U.S. PayPal accounts"

Click "Save" at the bottom.

In addition

in shipping options there is an exlsion list of places your willing to ship to that stops people from bidding or buying your items from the regions you select.

Yes, that works to an extent, but still doesn't stop people from buying your items that live in different countries and requesting shipments elsewhere.

Meaning: If they have an account in the country you sell in but don't live there, they will still be able to buy your items and make demands regarding shipping.

Can I ask why you want to limit your buyers?

I've always found US sellers the least willing to ship abroad but never found out why..

Are there real reasons why not - like legal restrictions or hoops to jump through - or just a dislike of dealing with shipping?

For collectables, you can add on 30%+ to the value simply by offering international shipping. There's a business right there, buying UK only stuff and selling again with international shipping..
