Default off to the car boot

I'm going to the towns big Easter car boot sale tomorrow. First time going for eBay. Want to get some stuff to safely sell to get my limits up on all these stealth accounts im opening! A profit would be nice but don't want to waste money.

Any tips on what to look out for in today's climate? I'm hearing people buy off ebay to sell on the carboot nowadays! Not a good start for me!

Thanks

People buy from ebay to sell at car boots but people also buy at car boots to sell on ebay, I suppose its all about knowing about your product.

I cant really give any tips though apart from be there early!!!

Good luck with it, hope you get some bargains!!

Dress warmly.

Be early.

Keep in mind all the glitters is not gold.

Used to love these outings, despite the bad weather.

Go with a budget in mind.

Be prepared to haggle.

Simply enjoy the day

It's useful to have a 3G phone with you when you go.

It allows you to get an idea what stuff will sell for on ebay, before you buy.

I used to go to boot sales. Nothing like being in a farmers field at 8 am on a Sunday in your Wellington boots, the smell of frying Bacon and Sausages in the air, trestle tables full of little treasures, the flurry of excitment when a new car full of goodies arrives.

Well to sum it up the most productive part was the bacon and sausage sandwich

Half the sellers were selling new products for at least as much as they where selling on ebay.

Others where selling crap from 30 years ago like broken toys, old light switches and drill bits. Only old bits worth anything where being sold as valuables, like £20 for transformers toys or £5 for Haynes manuals.

But I'm sure had it been warmer and I wasn't so tired because of daylight savings, there would've been some worthwhile bits to buy if I'd looked harder.

i always look to at least double my money from boot finds

£25 spend can hoof you a £50 return

but it deppends what you find... as a £1 find can get you the same £50 return or more

but it does not happen very often now that everyone is on the hunt a ebay deal wagon

15 odd years ago id walk out a bootsale with black bags full of stuff now your lucky to fill your pocket

as said it all deppends on what your looking for... id spend big money on transformer toys some of them fetch very good money but usually you find the seller will have already reasearched ebay for the price its set at... and you hear them i cant take any less id rather put them on ebay... im thinking yeah go do that thats why your down here on a freezing cold sun morn lol

but you can get good stuff you need to look hard... go through all the nooks and crannies dig deep in odd boxes
you never know what you might find

and get talking to the boot saler... very often they will say they have stuff at home that they didnt bring with them and some ae happy to give you phone numbers and such
