Did payal allow you to yank money out of all accounts or just one?

Sammich 05-20-2013 11:48 PM

Just tried the one Paypal account so far. Should I pull the rest?

MM78 Yes I log into a separate Vmware machine for each account. Im not why I would need separate user accounts if Im using a dedicated virtual machine for each account, so your answer is no.

corleone 05-20-2013 11:59 PM

Only the ebay accounts, nothing with the paypals?

How many accounts did they shut down?

I've had a mass shut down before, but it was done by paypal. They caught my accounts and everyone elses who had sent paypal payments to a particular person who happened to be one of my suppliers for a product I sell.

Paypal decided to go after the supplier, the byproduct being the paypal users who had sent them money received limitations. During a manual review I lost close to 40 paypal account within a 8 hour period.

I've never had anything like that happen to an ebay account, but I can almost guarantee that somebody was sitting at a desk, manually going through and finding all your accounts and all accounts linked to you.

You've left a trail somewhere, you've got to figure it out. Like you, I was also confused for a while until I had figured out why it happened. The answer is out there, please let us know when you figure it out.

Good luck, and start creating new accounts. I became a man on a mission and now have twice as many accounts as I did when they caught me with my pants down, as a result, I'm bringing in nearly twice the revenue. Through adversity comes conquest.

Thank you all for the replies. Paypal seems unaffected at least so far. Im pulling the bulk of my funds out while leaving enough in there (I hope) to not look suspicious.

Am I pretty much out of luck getting these accounts restored?

GreenBean 05-21-2013 11:35 AM

This came in too from another user.

Not impressed

You need to work on backups now.

I dont see these being saved as I believe they were linked and for them to let you have paypal funds is odd to me.

Another reason why I drain all my paypals down to a few refunds and enough to cover current fees.

I would TRY to get the accounts restored (you have nothing to lose by trying) but I would not COUNT ON IT.

As Sandy D says, make backups now. Avoid any past mistakes.

I have a rule of thumb.

Until I get the FORMAL word from ebay or paypal that the account is gone, I fight.

I have to try to make sure it keeps my FAITH in beating these horrors.

For me it is a matter of Honor

Might as well start pulling the rest.

My only follow-up question to your account linking is were similar items being sold across the accounts? Same images used? I agree that one accidental login is unlikely to link but perhaps over a long time there was similar activity....

Omgoozle 05-23-2013 11:46 PM

I have no idea why no one else has mentioned this - but it's possible that since you're selling foofoo, you've just pissed off the VERO owner of the foofoo items youre selling and they took down all your foofoo selling accounts, as well as other people selling foofoo of the same company/product?

Have you looked into your foo-foo selling competitors to see if they're down also? I'd try that.

jeffweico 05-23-2013 11:51 PM

Omgoozle - I just had to say, I LOVE your forum name! It always makes me chuckle...

Thank you, most people don't even realize the roots of it... :)

Makes me feel cool when I'm able to sign off on threads with "Goozle" :amen:

Foo-foo take down does not usually get a violating user agreement notice.

Apologies for my recent absence. I use different pictures for every ad but I do sell similar items. However half of the accounts were still in the development stage, selling individual stickers only with no recent problems. Perhaps thats no longer allowed but for a while I was selling individual staples and Qtips and those ads got a warning when I posted stating blabla used for feedback manipulation are you sure you wanna post this? I always clicked yes and no problems ever. However I eventually got worried about the constant warning and switched to stickers, which never EVER not once got any warnings about feedback issues. So Im confused as ever and note even sure how to move forward since I have no development product to sell any longer without getting myself into hot water. Im open to suggestions here n what you all sell to get your feedback up to par.

That in itself could be another thread.

Obtaining feedback is like the how long is a piece of string question.

It is a facet of making an account that hopefully will grow to a money earning one. Getting feedback is part of the costs of doing business.

I allocate a budget for what I want to spend on feedback. The issue that now happens is is it worthwhile 'getting' feedback'?

Ya'll know I am old school. I do this. Good Luck to others who do not bother.
I do it because I do not have time to be dealing with ebay flagging my account(s). ebay want to see an account working well. I play the role as such a seller.

I buy a variety of items within a certain monetary value. I avoid the penny dreadfuls, I avoid the wall-papers. I avoid the ebooks. What I buy I can either sell on or use. I try to be selective.
There will be all types of replies.

what stood out for me is the all forwarded to 1 email thing. Is it not possible you check wrong ebay notice for the user and ip you are on? sometimes when you get that auto mouse click thing happen, it clicks on a notice and opens it automatically, without you wanting to or you hover over wrong one and then page recalibrates and you clicked wrong one...

do you have flash on your users?

jamcocktail21 05-27-2013 06:21 AM

Wow so many accounts...:(

I used VMWARE before very successfully,it should not be a problem

I think you went somewhere wrong with emails

Also you mentioned that you used different pictures for each account. Were you removing metadata from all images?

gamezoom 05-27-2013 10:18 AM

yeah the girlfreind thing killed my account, my Indian wife logged in and boom two account gone!!!!

heil86 05-30-2013 05:21 PM

Have you made sure to wipe exif info from pictures?

Sammich 06-01-2013 10:26 PM

Are there programs to edit or delete out this data embedded in pictures? most of my items I sell I just goto google images and grab the first one that looks decent (There are many). Maybe there is data in these pictures?

heil86 06-02-2013 11:54 AM

Most photo's will have exif data, or as adobe likes to refer to it as copyright information.

EXIF is short for Exchangeable Image File, a format that is a standard for storing interchange information in digital photography image files using JPEG compression. Almost all new digital cameras use the EXIF annotation, storing information on the image such as shutter speed, exposure compensation, F number, what metering system was used, if a flash was used, ISO number, date and time the image was taken, whitebalance, auxiliary lenses that were used and resolution. Some images may even store GPS information so you can easily see where the images were taken!

You should always stay away from using images from google and always try to use your own.

corleone 06-02-2013 06:31 PM

download batchpurifier lite for free to clean all the exif tags. I use it for every item I list.
