What to do? take your own pics! lol. you don't need to take Super Professional pics to get decent pics.

Wondering how this was going to effect those who drop ship everything and dont have any pictures of their own to use.

stanislav 06-01-2013 01:16 AM

How can they determine if my pictures are stock photos or not ????

How do ebay determine anything?

By unfair and foul means.

Probably reports from buyers. Also if you use the stock photo from the ebay catalogue, this might also trigger the listing being removed.

Nasty new rule for "used" condition. We'll see how it goes, I don't plan on doing anything for now, except uploading a bigger main picture for my few affected listings.

No text added or any artwork to pictures is not a very smart update. This will increase amazon and bonanza sales.

watermark to advertise????

Hello!!! It's watermarked to stop the image being stolen by some thief.

Ah well, back to the drawing board.

More than one way to watermark images

Your allowed to put a water mark they just want to clean up the pics that have advertisements of name / website all over them, which I think is good idea some of those pictures are so messy looking

Sandy D 06-01-2013 12:34 PM

For me as a buyer I get tired of seeing all the text and graphics all the way down the page.

It will help clean it up and will be better looking and easier to browse in my opinion.

The size issues and other things are going to be a pain for a bit but for me I am liking the idea of no text in the photo.

I see the text thing as a plus because many people have complained for years about the text. Maybe it will help keep buyers looking more???

Dmshark25 06-01-2013 01:47 PM

I 100% agree with that Sandy

download fotosizer if you need your images larger. Does batch resizing to enlarge quickly and without hassle.

Does anyone have a link to the new rules?
I have been searching but not coming up with right thing.

incniu 06-01-2013 10:28 PM

1600 Pixel is the recommended size for the longest side of your image by ebay.

The requirement is 500 pixels on the longest side, which is pretty small and 99% of us won't have any issues with this length. Even with my camera set to it's smallest image quality, it's still 640 on the longest side.

I like watermarking my own photos or username-stamp.

If you cant take a photo, trying an artist rendering if you have time to paint and draw :FF:

Simple resizing with Paint as well is an option

I rarely buy from sellers with those listings.

Always look cheap & tacky.

Or, the item is cheap and they overcharge with shipping.

LOL.
